YnysMon
We have just (mid-afternoon) returned from a walk into Acle and back, having moored up by the bridge this morning. This morning was an opportunity to touch base with Kate and meet her husband Tony. We had a very pleasant late breakfast together at the Dunes cafe. The walk into Acle didn’t go quite as planned as we thought we would walk along the Weaver’s Way as far as Acle Dyke and walk into the village from there, but the path was flooded just beyond the Bridge Inn moorings, so we had to take the path that runs alongside the road instead.

What a shame as it’s a lovely walk. That’s a very strange place for it to flood. Must have been that rain last night as I walked along there not long ago with it being ok. We too very much enjoyed our meet up and your showing Tony round Moonlight Shadow. She certainly looks bigger inside without the dogs! YnysMon
We returned to Horning this morning, following Springer’s Retreat up the Bure from Ant Mouth, then we drove to Great Yarmouth where we had a super excellent meal in The White Swan (the fish restaurant that’s near the yacht station). Then we went to check out the historic quarter along the South Quay. All in all, we had a very pleasant afternoon.
kpnut
I spotted you in my new wing mirror on the big bend where the wild moorings used to be under the trees between Ant mouth and Ranworth Dam. Glad you’ve had a productive day.
YnysMon
Actually, we were stalking you for longer 😂, from not long after Thurne Mouth, except there was another boat between thee and me.
YnysMon
Whoopee! We are back on Moonlight Shadow from tomorrow…and for a whole fortnight! We aren’t planning to cruise anywhere tomorrow. We’ll probably be later than usual arriving at the boat, as we need to visit Graham’s Dad on the way (he’s in a hospital in Northampton). Hopefully on Saturday we’ll be able to find a mooring somewhere suitable to watch the 3 Rivers competitors going past…possibly Acle. 10

YnysMon
I hope we aren’t going to have a wash-out of a fortnight! Is this rain ever going to dry up?

YnysMon
We have stayed nicely ensconced on our home mooring this evening. Mind you, we didn’t get here until after 5pm. Tip…if your canopy lights aren’t working check the trip switch before trying to fix the electrical connections. Graham is wishing he’d tried the easiest solution first!

YnysMon
At the bridge inn. It's very windy here. I didn't bother trying to get into the BA moorings as the wind is blowing off that bank ...we only managed last time with your help.

kpnut
Is that where they're turning round? I thought they went further down the Bure? Maybe 'cos its so windy it'd be too much hard work getting back up the river again?
YnysMon
It's further down. We saw a rescue boat going downriver with a larger buoy mid morning.
