We moored at Reedham lunchtime and noticed the Lord Nelson was closed

No board giving opening times could be seen

Does it close on a Monday or has it closed down

The Nelson is run by a small crew so closed Mondays (unless a Bank Holiday) Has been since re opening after Covid

The Ship is 7days a week & think I noticed a board at the Ferry stating now open all day every day

We've noticed quite a few pubs closed on mondays. With many pubs short of staff it seems this is the only way they can get a break.

Norada, Potter. Dog Inn, Ludham. Lion, Somerton and as noted the Nelson, Reedham.

Things may change as staff are found so it's worth checking direct with them... don't want to lose them Monday business if they do return to opening!

Yes, also the New Inn at Rockland arn't doing meals for the same reason, they lost a lot of trade yesterday with boats turning up and leaving as no food on.

The trade, pubs,Restaurants, Hotels are all still trying to recover from covid. Many people  were layed off. Many found  better paid jobs, and didn't  return  to catering. The same has happened  in aviation.

Possible an unfair comment, my memories of the ship are of an old damp pub. To be fair that was some 20 years ago. The same night we went onto watch one of the funniest folk singers I've ever seen in the nelson and a fantastic steak.. glad to see the ship has improved

That would have been when Bill had it at a guess, if a solo folk singer possibly John Collerick (who I believe ran the pub at one point, maybe when you remember from if pre Bill), when we first used the pub in 2010 it was often Carl and Danny doing the folk night and usually funny as hell, it was the better pub back then but had gone badly downhill when we returned to the broads in 2012, then found the ship a hard pub to escape from, often in the wee small hours.:default_biggrin:
