Harvey
Hi all Can anyone help? My elderly mother in law is currently staying in Swaffham, Norfolk. We are going to see her next week and her wish is to go to a 'Norfolk Broad' I know Swaffham is a bit of a drive away from the broads but could someone help me by suggesting a Broad we can take her to, to just sit, watch and relax? Somewhere with ice views, car park, tea shop etc. She is not too good with walking. Thank you very much

BrundallNavy
Ranworth or Horning or Oulton Broad.
trambo
The Broads themselves are not that car friendly if you are not that good walking. Can only think of Malthouse, as Griff mentioned, or the Barton Boardwalk and then into Neatishead. Much more choice along the rivers. Coltishall, Stokesby and Reedham come immediately to mind. Have you considered booking a trip on an excursion boat from Horning or Wroxham? You will always see a lot more being afloat than ashore. gancanny
acle bridge, easy to get to, car parking, coffee shop and plenty of river traffic
floydraser
I only know Ranworth. Get there early or at a lucky time and you can see the broad from the car. If not, it's a short walk from the alternative car park, and there's a cafe with outdoor seating.
marshman
Treat her to a trip on one of the tour boats - always loads of room on the Wroxham ones and loads of choices of times etc. and I am sure she would enjoy it - parking should be ok too.
