Boat Missing off Cromer

See from the EDP there's a 6 metre boat with 2 POB missing last night off Cromer having put out a Mayday.

The name / size does have a match with a Broads cuiser.

 

Fingers crossed for a safe outcome ( or it being a hoax )

I have just been listening to Radio Norfolk and apparently a fishing vessel of the same name has returned to harbour but it is not the same vessel.

 

They have asked the fishing fraternity to keep an eye out also Humber Coast Guard.

After extensive searching by a number of vessels and a Sea King helecopter the search was called off earlier this morning and has been deemed as an hoax.

If it is a hoax then it's sick. I couldn't find a boat on Craig's Database answering the description.

Very sick, why on earth would anyone do such a thing, when you think of the time and effort by the emergncy services to find the boat not to mention the risk to their lives and the cost of such a search it really is unbelievable.

 

The fact it was a hoax is in a way a good thing, at least there isn't two bodies to be found, let's hope they find the persons responsible and throw the book at them

Hi Bob,

 

This hoax was a waste of everyone's time including the Humber Coastguard who coordinated the search, a RAF Rescue helicopter, the Cromer Life Boat and several vessels that were in the area including a gas rig support vessel and a ferry.

 

These idiots if found should be taken to task for their stupidity, these emergency services can not be everywhere and a real emergency could have developed at the time of this search.
