donnygeoff
Yes PC gone wrong again. As an aside, scroll down to the last picture, the caption says "...who played Titty, not pictured....) Correct me if I am wrong, but Titty would not be pictured in a "still/photo" of The Coot Club.
smellyloo
I guess the 1930's child would get the ref to the children's story Titty Mouse and Tatty Mouse. I suspect todays kids would ask why is the girl called "titty" with some confusion so ........ shock horror ................... I think ....................... Maybe it's not such a bad idea to change it.

Arthur
You are right Geoff. None of the Swallows and Amazons themselves appeared in the Broads based books. Why they chose to include a still from the 1980's version of Coot Club in an article about a remake of Swallows and Amazons I do not know. I just wish they would stop tampering with things. The next thing they will want to do is update the books with mobile phones and god knows what else. Ramsomes books were written in an age before political correctness and when children were allowed to be children withe their own imagination and interpretations of the stories.

Baitrunner
Will they re-dub the James Bond film with ***** Galore in it? To be honest though I have seen some tatty titties!! Sorry Mr Mod but someone had to do it. It did always make me smirk when i read the books as a kid, but you soon forget it once you got into the stories. Wasn't Paddington banned in Russia for being rude for not wearing trousers?

CooWee
I thought this a valid comment. "Is this the same BBC that employs the foul-mouthed Russell Brand, Jonathan Ross, Paul Merton, Stephen Fry, Jo Brand and all the other left-wing so-called "comedians" on their shows?"
