Any ideas what this is?

Bass for sure, since when has one of our native fish been renamed Sea Bass......its a Bass unless in a restaurant. this schoolie is clearly very undersized so lets hope the rag that looks dry didnt take to much of its protectivness from it when it was returned.....

 

I have caught Mullet at reedham in the past but never a Bass but have heard of them before in that area.

yep its a sea bass!!!
i caught a mullet when in france in june on rhone river
two locks up from the sea zone some 40 km from the sea.
so not unuasual.
hope you well , weather4 was lovely at weekend.
