my son has just caught a small fish at reedham and im not sure what it is, its sort of zander looking but its pure silver and had two dorsal fins the forward one was spikey, how do i put up a picture!!

Bass for sure, since when has one of our native fish been renamed Sea Bass......its a Bass unless in a restaurant. this schoolie is clearly very undersized so lets hope the rag that looks dry didnt take to much of its protectivness from it when it was returned.....

 

I have caught Mullet at reedham in the past but never a Bass but have heard of them before in that area.

I asked my son who fishes all over the world for the England team.

yep its a sea bass!!!
i caught a mullet when in france in june on rhone river
two locks up from the sea zone some 40 km from the sea.
so not unuasual.
hope you well , weather4 was lovely at weekend.
