  5. Now I am confuzzled I distinctly remember hearing the Horns going whilst sitting with a nice cool beer at the Bridge Inn at PH when both the Hoseasons and the HW Blakes pilot - assume he was a HW employee then - were going back n forth. Iain

  9. As one who has supported the RNLI all my adult life, its great to read news of a RNLI station, especially with happy ending news! I personally know the ex Cox of the Troon Lifeboat, and have been out on the boat on open days. Please give generously to these brave lads and lassies when you can. Iain.
  10. Hi Steve and Sue, Welcome to the NBN Forum Iain
  11. Hi John, Welcome to the NBN forum Iain.
  12. I also had the Burger on our last visit there , Robin. You have described it just as it was for me also, it was a generous size. The coleslaw on the sides was delicious too. Hopefully will have again next month, IF we can procure a mooring there. Iain.
  13. I have Prestwick Airport close by, but for us folks up North we have to pay up to an extra £ 60-100 per person for trips to the Med. With diesel prices now cheaper than petrol, my drive next month will be approx £40 cheaper than it was two years ago. So as much as I like Palma Nova, and I would avoid the treck at Palma Airport as I would get assisted passage there - no walking - my drive to Norfolk and boat hire with thanks to Richos discount my holiday next month is a very good deal indeed. As for the weather, you dress accordingly! Iain
  14. Sorry Howard, but Lancs have won TWO of them Iain
  15. Keith I think WE need one of these each! Just to be on the safe side. Scoot would never damage one end on a length Oh no he wouldn't....oh yes he would! Iain. p.s. I love the Yorkies really, we had our Honeymoon there!
  16. Good idea Keith.....Err do you think the ECB would allow us both to be the umpires at Yorkshire's matches? I would need Scoot though to sit between overs! Iain.
  17. I suppose being a Lancashire County Cricket Club supporter, I must yet again, grudgingly congratulate the Yorkshire CCC in winning the 1st Division Championship ....again I of course am delighted to report that we will sort them out at Old Trafford next season! Nice to be back in Division 1. Iain
  18. A possible pic for the Calender maybe is it? Iain
  19. Get the coathanger wires out, you remember, the ones you used years ago on the boats! Oh and cars too! Iain
  20. Thanks Poggy, that brings back memories of many happy nights and sair heads the following morning! Iain
  21. Since when has Ben Nevis had all those buildings below it? I hasten to add, its good to see Fort William has expanded so much recently! Iain
  22. Shot in the dark Howard, it could be multiple registry at start up causing the problem, not Win 10. Iain
  23. Worth a watching I think..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b06bgq86/blitz-cities-3-norwich Iain
  24. I am quite sure Charlie, that SWMBO could knock out a Haggis, Tatties n Neeps plateful on board at the May meet. Its not something to cook on a BBQ! Iain
  25. Oh you were being ripped off at 7 and 9p a pint John and Howard. It was only 5p a pint for Carlisle State Keg then (1970/71) The biggest rise was anything that was a half pence, as it disappeared and created a100% increase not much later. Example...Newspaper old money 6d became 3p quite soon after decimalisation. Our lunchtime game of seven card brag that had been 1d and as we all hated the half pence we used 1p instead an increase of 200% and you wonder where inflation came from! Iain
