Grosvenor Girl was hard work to handle in windy conditions. Very cumfy bed cabins, but very draughty in the saloon. Think we hired it about 1985.
Like all Summercraft boats, very well turned out.

Hi Eric,
I did it always well under eight hours through the night, with stops at Southwaite, Leaming Bar, and an hours zzzz at a very good lay-by close to RAF Cranwell. In to the Norwich Market for bacon roll n coffee plus fresh veg etc.
When starting from Thorpe St Andrew, went to Sainsbury's for breakie.

You have just reminded me, why over many years, Eric, I drove down and up through the night !
Glad you're back in the Kingdom of Fife, ok. Look forward to your write up.

Ah yes, I meant sending parcels can be a shock to the system. We use one of the local churches to deliver our Christmas cards now. So much cheaper than Royal Mail.

Agreed 100% JM, posting anything these days can be eye watering. A prepaid stamp on post cards at a special low rate, may have helped resurect the holiday post card.
Not everything has to be all singing all dancing Apps !
