  4. Been to Swanage several times, nice seafront, parking in town can be funIf you fancy a run to a country pub, may I recommend this one. http://www.theelmtreeinn.com Unless changed hands, it was a must go for lunch when we were staying in the area. Enjoy your holiday there, Alan. Iain
  5. I supplied Craig with several pics of boats I hired over the decades, the one on this thread was taken by Ruth it was our first ever "wild" mooring, on the Ant. One of the boats I hired is now a members, and has had a converted centre cockpit. So good to see it when in the hire fleet, I think. Iain
  6. I am a new boy on the silver block, a tad over 67. I use to think nothing of going round a 6800yard golf course twice in a day. Or bowling 20 overs in a 50 over game. These days without the modern aids like my pal "SCOOT" and my car I would be stuck at home. This however does not stop my old grey cells from keeping an eye on the Forum. I am sure most of us, if not all of pension age, still are as alert if not as able as they were forty plus years ago! Yours, a recycled teenager!
  7. May I wish you good folks down south and across the world, a very Happy St George"s Day ! Iain

  11. .Hi Alan, I would guess 1975 the year Ruth and I tied the knot or the following year where it lasted in total nealry eight weeks. The golf courses were almost straw colourec apart from the watered geeens! Iain
  12. Once I am well enough, it looks like I will have to get out with the camera, and take some pics of Ayrshire and possibly over on the Isle of Arran, in the sun!!! Iain

  22. If that was in a house it would be an earth fault leakage, Alan. When I worked on coastal coal and timber boats that had three pygmy lamps down in the engine room power board, if one was dimming you could bet it was a poor wire connection. I hope you resolve the problem quickly. As the Admiral says, a Meggar Tester may help find the fault. Iain
  23. Yes! Have a guid holiday Stuart, and the weather is kind to you Iain
  24. You are "jousting" JM .....Utter madness! Was he practicing for a medieval tournament? I bet he was guttered when the police caught up with him! Iain
