  1. I did once get seasick on a windsurfer in the black water estuary. There seems to be a pattern forming
  2. During August 1985 we hired a T31 sailing boat from Falmouth, after being stuck in the Helford river for the first 3 days we finally made it up the coast to Salcombe. The following day we had planned a trip across to the Channel Islands but decided due to the weather forecast to head back down coast towards Plymouth. We passed a large white object sitting upside down on the rocks but didn’t take much notice. On reaching Fowey harbour the crew had had enough with all but one being sea sick. We moored up on the visitors moorings which are directly in line with the harbour entrance, as the boat was being tossed all over the place we took the decision to head to the nearest hotel for the night. The following morning we called the water taxi to take us back to the boat and he headed off towards the yacht club moorings, sorry I said we are down there on the visitor moorings oh no your not came the reply we move it last night due to the.wind. On arrival back into Falmouth we found the harbour full of Fastnet boats and the white hull we had seen days earlier was Drum Simon LeBon’s yacht that had lost its keel. Not a pleasant two week holiday during which I got very friendly with the big white telephone that was the last sailing holiday in the UK preferring Greece but that’s another story.
  3. Most of my sea experience has been in rag and sticks and this was by far the worst conditions I have experienced. Would I do it again Hmm probably not, would I have missed the opportunity to be a small part of Robins fantastic adventure. Definitely Not.
  4. I was alway taught you keep the weight as far back as possible and nice and low to stop the bow digging in

  6. Nipper is still in varnish after 68 years.
  7. I believe the ranger said the BA office has been tracking the progress on AIS so would know exactly where he was.
  8. You also have Flogas, not all bottles are screw fittings some have a quick release connection and you can get two different sizes. A photo of your set up would be good because once we know the type we can suggest places to get them. i have flogas with a quick release connection and I get mine from Boulter’s in Horning. Doug
  9. You and me both along with many years windsurfing my contender tried to kill me on many occasions.
  10. You do realise whoever wins pays the bill.
  11. Robin cannot be that daft as he is not the only one bringing aTrader onto the broads, I’m sure he will be just fine.
  12. If it completely fly by wire it will have a solinoid controlled fuel rack therefore no mechanical input possible.
  13. A small update, The fuel tank layout has been diagnosed and now fully understood with no issues, underwater survey has also come back good.
  14. Hot off the press, ‘Engine problems now seem sorted as they have extensively checked both positions today. Lots of jobs completed and only a few to do, rib tested and all works fine but one small disaster Robin has lost his glasses over the side so is currently working blind Doug.
  15. I disagree ref the mooring as you may well be able to continue with the boats current mooring at least in the short term. There are plenty of free moorings around if you know where to look. Doug.
  16. I also noticed the Life Boat was also called out today I'm sure all will become clear soon.
  17. Robin has some competition lol. Now the big boys want a bit of The Broads. ? Fabulous news for a place desperately in need of a boost. Hope it's the beginning of a new lease of tourism life for the place.
