  1. Maybe they could do this one next. (Photo curtesy of C Slawson)
  2. One being restored in the Wetshed at Rico’s.
  3. I don’t really understand why you would have a centre tank that is lower than the main tanks if it does not supply fuel to the main engines, with the transfer cocks open it will always top the centre tank making the useable range significantly reduced.
  4. If you go for Festool gear it comes with 3 years theft insurance, cost around the same as Makita.
  5. I believe it’s only private craft now.
  6. Looks a bit like the Ferro yacht that moors at the Norwich bridge end. If so there was a young family living on it in the summer.
  7. I have the same problem so have followed the link and deactivated my account. Thanks for the heads up. Doug.
  8. I’m planning on having Nipper out March /April this year for 3 weeks, approx cost £500 it will be antifouled /tar varnished along with any other work required underneath. The engine gets an oil change every year as it will attract moisture especially if it’s not used much new fuel filters and a new impeller approx cost £120. Doug.
  9. I bought diesel in Beccles and was asked if I have a diesel heater, when I enquirered I was told it makes a difference to what I would be charged. Doug.
  10. Did any one watch Michael Portillo Great railway journeys last night, it was Cromer to Cambridge with a stop at Wroxham for a sail on a Wherry. The bonus for me was my daughter getting off the train at Norwich (It was actually the train from Lowestoft) just hope she doesn’t get all lovey on me. Doug.
  11. Make sure you shut him inside when you approach a mooring that way he will not try to jump off before you tie up. Doug.
  12. No no water at Dilham. Doug.
  13. Did anyone else watch Nile Rodgers and Chic last night. For people of a certain age it was the best thing that’s been on all over Christmas. Doug.
  14. Yes turn right at the fork in the river, it gets a bit narrow towards the end but there is a small dyke on the right just before the mooring you can turn round in. Just walk through the boat yard and up the lane and your at the pub. Doug.
  15. Finding somewhere new that we hadn’t been before, Geldeston village staithe and a nice walk up to the pub for a fantastic Sunday lunch.
  16. I replaced Nippers heater this year with a MV Airo blown air system, system complete with all ducting as it was a different diameter was £900, easy install and just plug and play took 3 hrs to fit. Make sure you go for a Marine system as van based systems don’t have a sealed exhaust as they are mounted outside the cab. Doug.
  17. If it stays in the water then yes antifoul as it will help prevent a build up of slime etc . The outboard is more at risk due to the cooling intake getting blocked. Doug.
  18. You can fit a bubble detector in the gas line, does your cooker have a FFD fitted if so should be ok. I always disconnect the bottle when we leave the boat that way we can be sure it doesn’t leak. Lexan acrylic and Perspex are all brand names, some have better uv protection a quick google should sort you out. Doug.
  19. My friends boat had a “Day tank” fuel was pumped from the main tanks into the day tank and it was this tank that fed the engines and generator, could this be what you have. Doug.
  20. I find the Apple case for the Pro expensive and not particularly good as it only covers the screen I have collected a dent in the back cover. Do you have the setting on auto so the screen dims itself. Doug.
