It's now 4.40am here in Bali and I'm off to the airport for my monthly trip out of the country - visa needs. Today it's Singapore, so at least I can have a beer or 2.

Provided you get away from moored boats a.s.a.p. - to avoid engine noise, there is no problem with starting early. 5 or 6 or 7am is always normal for us.

We love it for an early crossing on the Sunday morning. Dinner in the Acle Bridge Inn (you need to book), an early night and then up at the crack of dawn.
Coffee and bacon butties on the way and you'll be surprised how quick you can do the run to Yarmouth.
