  1. Both jobs are easy. One just talks all the time about how the broads would be better without boats .The other one goes on about the UK should put more money into the EU.Only problem is he does not think that the UK is here anyway. So we don't have to speak English anymore
  2. As I understand it in the past all the moorings belonged to the pub.Apart from the now small area that has been BA 24 hour free moorings. They were brought by BA at Auction some years back.I was interested in buying them myself. Clearly BA now have added more moorings close to the Mill.Back to the pub there moorings were always free to moor. This chap has turned up over the summer charging people. I will contact BA tomorrow to see if I can gain some info. The RSPB have a large reserve on Barney, but as far as I understand no moorings.
  3. I noticed the signs last Monday.I guess the tape were put up by ba contractors.
  4. Yes in the past have seen her a few times.Theres also a private steam boat as well.Great Piece of broads history.
  5. Don't worry about Barney Arms.I think the cafe is no more plus Not sure those charging for moorings have the right to do so.We went past two weeks ago and on Thursday no life at the cafe.
  6. Like everyone has said,I am sorry to hear of your loss.If it's any help remember the good and best times of her life.Time will soften the sadness. Ian
  7. We are now in the White horse Chedgrave. Leaving Beccles at 11.00am arriving at 15.35 Loddon.last moorings at the bottom.Very windy along the way.Tommow off to Norwich.
  8. Try cove at Brundall,Very good place to be and close to Norwich.Ask for Dave the owner.
  9. May be wrong but thinks she comes from.Hamshire
  10. I treated to a trip to Geneva a few years back.Flying from London city Airport has she had not done so before. We had a great time we had good weather. One day in the low 70s.We both loved the place,Yes it's not cheap but would love to go again.A photo taken from the department store cafe looking at Mont blanc.
  11. Here in Beccles it's a bit lively, still blowing hard .Hope to go to Loddon with wind drops a bit.
  12. We have the boat serviced each year mainly before the season gets underway ,as for hire boat yards checking the engine each time a boat comes in, not sure they all do.Spoke with a couple last week there hire boat needed a pump out after 2 days.Guess it was not done on handover.
  13. They said at Beecles YS.its reduced wind now. We will see
  14. I have said many times I would like scores displayed by law..At present you don't have to.
  15. I do agree the up keep is just as important for beer and drink and should be treated the same. The point I am trying to get across is care for staff and customers, that's what it's about. Much of my time is spent doing so and I expect others to do the same. The trade I believe is heading in the right direction overall
  16. Kevin we have a Alpha 29.Good boat.
  17. I don't do bbqs.Believe me its easy to spot if a kitchen is ran properly. If in doubt inspectors will return. As a Chef I aim to provide you the customers with safe well cooked tastie food and expect staff that work with or for me to do the same. Therefore somewhere that only have 3 or less stars need to get there act together. I therefore will not eat anywhere with 3 or less stars
  18. Sorry but how many work in the business. Scores on the doors is not perfect, but until something else comes along it has an important place.I can walk into a kitchen and have a good idea if it's ran correctly. The scores are done on a number of things how food is stored/kept cooked and recorded. As chef/manger you don't know when an inspection will take place. I have said many times before yo gain at least 4 stars is not hard. I agree washing of hands is very important, every where I have worked will treat it with the up most care,so to is plate pots and pans washing. In fact water temperature will be tested to insure the correct temperature.
  19. We were there Fri pm,Sat am.Yes all the live aboard have gone and as John said relaxing the headings. Not sure how anyone could hit a crane,it's easy to see
