  1. We do Grendel. Especially for storing bedding and towels etc. over the winter at the caravan. Very useful.
  2. For anyone coming to the Wroxham and Hoveton area, the new Riverside Tea Room and Coffee Shop is ready for opening tomorrow, Monday 12th.
  3. Well done Grendel. We stayed local for our walk today too. Bitterly cold wind but thankfully dry.
  4. Afternoon All, Well we had a lovely time in the chat room yesterday evening. I ran a quiz I had got ready in case Jay couldn't make it. Shift work can play havoc with your plans sometimes so maybe he was working. It was quite close in the runners up places with ... Nik and Bern being joint runners up with 9 points and ... WINNER for the week was TIGERHAWK with 13 points. Well done!
  5. Interesting to read that the Liana may be relocating to Ranworth. I wonder why. It looked like it did reasonable business from Hoveton.
  6. Well done Grendel. Keep it up. I have failed completely this week. The really cold weather with frequent snow and hail showers kept me inside. I had taken to having a walk after work with the longer daylight hours. But I haven’t had any inclination to do that this week.
  7. Well if the weather is as currently forecast then sitting outside will be for hardy folk only. It’s just been snowing hard here. I wouldn’t actually want to be out on a boat today!

    High Water

Robin posted some photos and a little video from Brundall on Facebook yesterday. He said the flooding was the worst he had seen in the three years he’s been there. We received a flood warning for Lowestoft down to Bawdsey.
  9. I also noticed at Womack Water yesterday that the hose had not been connected back to the water tap yet. Hopefully that will be done by 12th.
  10. Oooo ... wonder if they will have to pay a toll ...
  11. Just glad you're ok Jay. How are you fixed for next Friday? I don't mind taking it if the timing doesn't work for you. I'm sure it's not always easy with shift work.
  12. That’s odd Jay, because I logged into the chat room probably just before or just on 8.30. There were a number of others there chatting and your name was on the list of people logged in. So I don’t know what happened but hope you’re ok.
  13. Must feel amazing to get back on board your own boat and out onto the water.
  14. Same here. There was a good turnout as well. Hopefully next week we can have another go!
  15. Interesting. You can of course already hire canoes etc. in that area. l note it says no parking on site so park nearby and walk round to where they are.
  16. Bluebell that would drive me nuts as well. I couldn’t buy it with a spelling mistake. That’s a bit embarrassing for them. And should St Benet’s have an apostrophe?!
  17. If this had been posted yesterday I would have thought that it was an April Fool! Watched some paddleboarders down near the bridge yesterday which was interesting when a boat came towards them and they all had to decide which side of the river they were going on.

    My Day

It’s interesting how some people stay in one place for so long while others move around. I lived in one house right through my childhood. But we’re now in our sixth house since we got married, four that we owned and two that went with my husband’s job so were never going to be long term. Hope you had a good first night in your new home Malcolm.
  19. I do believe there is now a Burger King at North Quay retail park in Lowestoft, should anyone be in the area and desperate to find one! Might try that out ourselves when we get back to the caravan hopefully soon.
  20. I'm proud to say that I still haven't been into Roy's McDonalds since we moved up here. Been tempted a couple of times but ... not enough to venture in and stand inside with masked up socially distanced youths and workmen ... yes that does seem to be the typical McD's customers around here out of season!
  21. Can I have some as well please? I have asked nicely!
  22. That’s a shame Mr Nog. Definitely a fastest fingers first situation a lot of the time. These people are fast!! 😂

    My Day

Good luck Malcolm! Hope the day goes well. Are you moving in one day? Ours was a two day move coming up from Essex.
  24. Looking forward to it already.
  25. I’m sure that you will get there Grendel. Keep at it. Home working took away all those walks around the office during the working day. The walk to the shops at lunchtime. And even just the steps from the the house to the car to the office.
