  1. That was almost exactly what my husband said when we were there earlier today. The temporary lights coming into Wroxham had quite a queue so on this occasion it probably didn't save us any time.
  2. Sitting all on its own Grace ... ?
  3. There were some beautiful colours in the sky this morning. But there's a lot of surface water out there on the roads now. Been down the A11 and along the A14 this morning in pouring rain. Take it easy driving home.
  4. I'm going to have to drive the junction of the NDR and the A47 a few times before I get the hang of that. Was down there this morning and found it so confusing to be in the right place. And of course the satnav hasn't got a clue ... thinks you're in a field!
  5. It was great fun dropping the mudweight on Malthouse Broad one day, watching everyone else fighting for the spaces on the staithe at lunchtime.
  6. I couldn’t walk anywhere in stilettos 👠, have never worn them in my life! As for Olympic sports, snooker is another one that’s missing. They could play it like the old Pot Black show that used to be on the tv.
  7. Sounds like quite a relaxing day all in all. Must add the Ferry House to my list of places to try through 2021. Never mind the webcam, maybe I'll get out and about next year and grab some footage of Norfolk Lady somewhere.
  8. I will be interested to hear what you make of the Maltsters if you dine there later. I took a look at the new menu a week or two ago and it looked as if they had fancied it up a bit, for want of a better expression!
  9. Thanks MM and OBB. It was definitely all above board and legit. I wouldn't have mentioned it if I wasn't sure of that. It was a great service and really helped us out.
  10. We found a local company in Essex to clear everything. You told them what you'd got and they quoted a price based on how much space they would need in a van to take it all. Then they sent two fit young men who just loaded their van and took it away. No more expensive than hiring a skip, especially when you factored in that we would have struggled to get some of the heavy items moved and into the skip ourselves. Might be worth considering if you can find similar in your area.
  11. Exciting times. Wonderful to hear that you’re getting closer to your move. Enjoy your time afloat this weekend too.

    Road Works 2020

I didn’t think about that. Seemed all clear this afternoon.

    Road Works 2020

Yesterday afternoon the traffic was queuing from before the double roundabout, down past Roy’s and over the bridge.

    Road Works 2020

There were still temporary traffic lights on the A1062 yesterday evening. Somewhere not far outside Hoveton, well before you get to Bewilderwood if travelling towards Horning. Looked like a burst water main when we drove along there on Monday evening.
  15. See I think that's the problem. I have no idea about this. And I doubt most people who casually read this forum looking for interesting topics and conversation have any more idea than I do. Yes we have passionate members and very knowledgable members, but I am taking this one on face value and hurray ... be nice if there is a reason to go the Berney Arms next year. And really this started out as a nice video about the area ....
  16. Well ... I was hoping for some positivity about the possibility of life being breathed back into the place next year in some form or other. Surely it is a good thing when anyone is talking about new business in the current climate.
  17. You’re talking in riddles. Who is Mr H?

    My Day

You’re certainly a hard worker Griff. Could teach our kitchen installers a thing or two. They don’t arrive until well past 9 o’clock each morning. I’m far more used to workmen that want to get in and get on!
  19. I watched a few more of this chap’s videos. He also did an interesting one going to Buckenham station a couple of years ago.
  20. Chanced upon this video. Interesting watch about the station at Berney Arms. But also news towards the end (around 9 mins 40 secs) of it opening as a bistro next year as the vlogger chanced upon the people intending to run this.
  21. Glad you managed to get out Ian. That in itself is a blessing compared to your weeks of shielding earlier in the year. The scooter sounds like a sensible option.

    Christmas?!

Great idea. We saw a boat very much like your nighttime video while stood on the green at Horning yesterday evening. Very effective. We were too far away for me to try to get a photo but it looked lovely.
  23. I did read of a pub yesterday that are using a local burger van as the source of their food in order to still be able to have people in and serve them drinks. They are clear about the fact that they have to order the food for you, you can’t bring your burger in with you. I guess that’s helping two businesses in one go.
  24. Wow! That looks amazing. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos.
  25. Wonderful to see your photos and hear that you've had a little cruise. I've been down Lime Kiln Dyke but never attempted to moor at the staithe. Looks like that was as good a time as any to do so. :)
