  1. Just glad you're ok Jay. How are you fixed for next Friday? I don't mind taking it if the timing doesn't work for you. I'm sure it's not always easy with shift work.
  2. That’s odd Jay, because I logged into the chat room probably just before or just on 8.30. There were a number of others there chatting and your name was on the list of people logged in. So I don’t know what happened but hope you’re ok.
  3. Must feel amazing to get back on board your own boat and out onto the water.
  4. Same here. There was a good turnout as well. Hopefully next week we can have another go!
  5. Interesting. You can of course already hire canoes etc. in that area. l note it says no parking on site so park nearby and walk round to where they are.
  6. Bluebell that would drive me nuts as well. I couldn’t buy it with a spelling mistake. That’s a bit embarrassing for them. And should St Benet’s have an apostrophe?!
  7. If this had been posted yesterday I would have thought that it was an April Fool! Watched some paddleboarders down near the bridge yesterday which was interesting when a boat came towards them and they all had to decide which side of the river they were going on.

    My Day

It’s interesting how some people stay in one place for so long while others move around. I lived in one house right through my childhood. But we’re now in our sixth house since we got married, four that we owned and two that went with my husband’s job so were never going to be long term. Hope you had a good first night in your new home Malcolm.
  9. I do believe there is now a Burger King at North Quay retail park in Lowestoft, should anyone be in the area and desperate to find one! Might try that out ourselves when we get back to the caravan hopefully soon.
  10. I'm proud to say that I still haven't been into Roy's McDonalds since we moved up here. Been tempted a couple of times but ... not enough to venture in and stand inside with masked up socially distanced youths and workmen ... yes that does seem to be the typical McD's customers around here out of season!
  11. Can I have some as well please? I have asked nicely!
  12. That’s a shame Mr Nog. Definitely a fastest fingers first situation a lot of the time. These people are fast!! 😂

    My Day

Good luck Malcolm! Hope the day goes well. Are you moving in one day? Ours was a two day move coming up from Essex.
  14. Looking forward to it already.
  15. I’m sure that you will get there Grendel. Keep at it. Home working took away all those walks around the office during the working day. The walk to the shops at lunchtime. And even just the steps from the the house to the car to the office.
  16. Today I achieved this month’s target of 60 miles. Not that far by a lot of people’s standards but to average 2 miles a day in cold weather and fitted around working is something I’m pleased I managed to do.
  17. Lovely to meet you too. You must have wondered who that mad woman was, waving to you through the window.
  18. I've got a pedometer app on my phone which I was going to suggest ... but then I remembered that you don't have a smart phone Grendel! In all seriousness while it can become obsessive to carry my phone around all day to get my steps counted, the monthly target it sets you is a good motivation. This month I needed to walk 60 miles. I've got 2 miles left to do so should just about achieve it. I know that exercise isn't going to fix my poor diet, but I know that I can walk further than I used to since I started using this. And I am getting out most days where it would have been so easy not to bother given that I'm working full time still.
  19. Will do. I'm mostly picking up things on the local Facebook noticeboard page.
  20. My strategy of late is to imagine I'm camping out somewhere, like some of these outdoors YouTube channels we watch now.
  21. The White Horse at Neatishead and The Lion at Thurne are both advertising for all kinds of staff. Plans would seem to be underway although there’s no dates yet on their Facebook pages.
  22. We’re planning along similar lines to get to our caravan. One trip soon to take back a lot of the things we removed for the winter. Then a few days stay after 12th April.

    Day Boats

Looks like they are jet washing dayboats at Herbie Woods this morning going by this snap from the webcam.
  24. That’s a good point. Hopefully that one will then be able to be used for the first and second jab for younger folk who’ve not been called up yet.
  25. I am already seeing the return of posts on social media from newbies asking all kinds of questions from how do I book to what boat should I have, what do I need to bring and where can I book moorings at pubs! There are also plenty of people commenting about their new experiences last year and how they can’t wait to be coming back. I think we are getting quite a few converts to the Broads holiday.
