  1. Took this photo at lunchtime today. Unfortunately I didn’t get the bridge height marker in. And I don’t know if it was high tide, low tide, or in between. But maybe if you zoom in it will tell you something … or maybe not! 😂
  2. Hope things pick up for you soon Ian. We have some neighbours who are moving and there's no sign yet of when that will be, though it feels as if they have been sold for a while!
  3. Hope you have a lovely time Helen. The coming days are looking more promising than it has been this week so far. I almost turned the heating on yesterday!
  4. Typical you’re all in Hoveton while I’m somewhere else! 😂
  5. Sounds good Grendel. I know that trip up the A12 only too well. It’s so different once you get past Woodbridge. That was certainly a long cruise but as you say, it’s been mostly dry here on Lowestoft since mid-morning. Not too windy, a bit chilly and grey for summer but ok. Hope you’re having a nice evening on board.
  6. It was a fun night in the quiz and very close scores all round. Bern was runner up with 10 points while Polly and Grendel tied on 11 points each. After a tie break the win went to Polly who will be QM next week. Thanks everyone for joining in ... and have a lovely weekend. :)
  7. Bumping it up ... chilly and wet here ... if it's the same where you are then why not join us ... there's a football match on? Can't compare to the NBN Friday Quiz! Be there or ... miss out on a 1st class fun and chat. :)
  8. Shame the weather has turned. Forecast looks wet today. Still I’m sure you’ll enjoy it nonetheless.
  9. No time was wasted. There were anglers out on the riverbank as I wandered past at 8 o’clock this morning.
  10. That looks like a lovely location for a mooring. I’ve seen the perfect boat as well. But at £55k I need to sell the caravan and then add quite a lot more. Ah well … lottery win it is then!
  11. The Christmas decorations are actually still up in the office where my team work in Essex. We had a small number of people there in December but had to abandon ship for the lockdown after the new year. No one has been back since.
  12. Well ... questions have already been written. The rounds next Friday evening will be Taking the Lead Broadly Speaking Christmas in June Summer Trivia Money Money Money GB Fun Facts ... not necessarily in that order ...who knows ... depends how I feel on the night. So put that date in your diary now ... eyes down, look in, for more fun and friendly chat about 8.30pm. Enter user name - no password required; https://www.nbnplus.co.uk/chat/

    Fantastic Week

Great to hear your trip was a success. Anyone out last week was blessed with such good weather too.
  14. That’s the other one that I hear more and more. And people then write it as they say it.
  15. I think this is the one you were looking for. https://forum.norfolkbroadsnetwork.com/topic/21073-positivity-and-good-news-only/?tab=comments#comment-347908 But I would suggest re-titling this topic and starting a new one to celebrate the good news through the summer.
  16. Nice to be home I expect but sounds like it was a successful trip and a nice time away for you both.
  17. We’re not at the van so I’m hoping to be there too. 👍😃
  18. I’ve got a new manager who talks in senior management language and acronyms all the time. I keep having to ask him to translate it for me. Thematic analysis combined with socialising outcomes and ensuring specificity. 😂 Two things that irritate me - “my bad” … no, you mean mistake. And “bear with” … no, you mean bear with me!!!
  19. Ah yes indeed. Roy’s is my local and I do notice when people are obviously holidaymakers! 😂
  20. Brilliant to have something to look forward to. Hope you're enjoying Suffolk life on dry land.

    My Day

We have done something similar many years ago, just not in that order. Dartmouth is definitely a place that I would go back to, would like to spend longer there than a day trip.
  22. Ian it looks amazing. You certainly deserve it after all that you have been through over the last year.
  23. What an interesting thing to do. Thanks for sharing the photos. :)
  24. My favourite months to be out are October and March. Less folk about especially in March. Weather unpredictable but the rivers are beautiful. Take layers to wrap up warm, hot water bottles for chilly nights, and you’ll have a great time. Plus the prices are a little lower. I can’t afford peak season on the boats I like to hire!
  25. I’m always surprised by how it seems to be acceptable to drink alcohol while helming. In my view it should be frowned on just the same as drink driving. I don’t touch a drop in either case. Always seems a shame to me if people feel they need alcohol to have a good time.
