    Marina For Sale

I am glad we no longer have Zimbi moored there. We were really sad when we sold the boat to leave so many friends that we had made at Cove behind. David is going to be a hard act to follow. David if you read this good luck for the future. paul and jill
  2. I am not allowed to do the ironing in fact I am not allowed to look at the iron. That's because 25 years ago she came in and caught me using HER iron as a laminator. Cost me a new iron that did. paul
  3. Glad your back. If you want advice on how to proceed from here, may I suggest trying rune stones. You have enough to do without input from idiots like me. Good luck and it's been quiet without you. paul
  4. Gentlemen, Beware of that thing called woman. A few weeks ago Jill mentioned that she was struggling with the round door handles on the bedroom doors (arthritis). On Saturday I was in Toolstation and saw a lever on rose door handle (cheap) and bought one to try on a door. That is so much easier she said. Right I will look for 3 replacement brass ones to match the rest of the doors. NO I prefer the chrome one! So on Sunday at 3pm I ordered 12 pairs of better quality, Chrome, suitable ones to replace the brass ones fitted on the interior doors, they arrived today at 10:30 am (impressive). Sorry she said the light switches do not look right now. So 4 switches ordered, guess what I maybe doing tomorrow. So a cheap nasty door handle so far has cost £300. paul
  5. Just a reminder. Even if you have had the jab, you are not protected for 3 weeks and after that you can still spread it to others. Today 2 weeks after being Pfizerred I had to go to our local Lidl (18 miles) for a slide/negative scanner, which works well, and food. The conditions in the shop nearly had me walking out!!! I had not realised the social distancing gap had been reduced to 2mm. 2 weeks in I do not wish to risk anything. My attitude at he moment is to treat everyone like that pub bore, who cleared the pub at a 1,000 paces, or maybe that was me. Jabbing is just one step towards, hopefully something better than the old normal and people treat others with more respect. Stay safe, stay warm, stay hopeful. paul
  6. Not as much as using fossil fuels. Basically being human apparently damages the world. Extinction for this race must be enforced to prevent the death of the poor abused covid 19 virus! That is if you need to protect every species on earth homosapiens, will only have a few examples kept in zoos. OOops zoos are not allowed. Yours truly, A cynic. paul
  7. When we had a boat I always annoyed Jill by saying. Hello Yare or Goodbye Yare when going over Postwick Bridge. paul
  8. It's gone. Who cares where? Except for some sympathy for the residents there. paul
  9. Sorry for your loss of someone you obviously liked a lot. The main thing to do is stop worrying about your responsibility, you have none except the moral ones that you seem to think you have (which nice of you). If the son is not able to take on these responsibilities try to get him to verbally give you consent. I do not envy you but respect you for caring. Regards to where to live it will take a good while to sort things out and get you evicted, if they deny your rights to occupancy quote this forum for the time you have lived there. After that cite Covid laws about movement. I really am impressed you feel it is your obligation to sort things out you must respect the family well. If the property is now privately owned by Rufus, so long as the bills are paid nobody will really care in these times . If there is another claim on the house, claim squatters rights you didn't break in but was invited to live there. if all fails inform the RSPCA about tiger the friendly cat. I repeat I do not envy you, I do admire you for caring about the family but you have no legal right to even organise a funeral unless granted by the heirs. Find an executor/will. paul
  10. Well Covid seems to have cured the Sepsis problem that was rife in hospitals. Me a cynic, never. paul
  11. Well, we were jabbed on Saturday and the nurse was at pains to tell us, the rules still apply and it would be a pity to get anything before the 3 weeks are up before the 90% protection is affective. We are actually more careful now than before she said that, which is hard to do, considering have safe we tried to be. Catching it now would be a kick in the teeth. I would hate to pass it on even if/when we have some kind of protection so will continue to carry on with the recommended protective actions. Remember, if you do not protect yourselves, you can infect your loved ones and do you care enough about them to risk that?. paul
  12. If you have any thoughts or doubts about vaccine immunity. Aged 5 I had been given my 3 polio vaccine jabs, then I got polio. The big thing is without the vaccine I would have been in an iron lung. I got Pfizzered on Saturday the 1st vaccine I have had since 1961. paul
  13. My day (well our) a phone call from my niece at 10:30, get over here now, 23 miles away, so of we set to get Pfizerred. They had too many phials thawed and most of the ones that had bookings needed the Astra vaccine because of various allergies etc. She is a steward at the leisure centre she normally manages. I think anyone passing was being dragged in rather than waste a drop. So far neither of us felt the jab or are suffering any effects, well apart from possibly 3 points going through the average speed cameras but I think remembered they were there in time. paul
  14. It should say OUR not OVER lives Damn red wine. paul
  15. As the title says. The all clear siren has sounded. The old normal, amended, is back. What is the first thing you are going to? Mine is not the pub but to go in any shop without a mask and get in the way of everybody! Then I am going to drive aimlessly somewhere 'cos I can. That dot of light in the future is bringing hope, hopefully bringing more togetherness, more vitality and serenity to all our lives. paul
  16. For Your Gods Sake. This thing is killing people, hopefully not yours! Stop trying to find ways round the rules and try to find ways YOU can help to improve survival rates for ALL. So you can kill a fish but not sail to do so, so you can exercise, so you can do lots of things, BUT should you do so? Think of others that may suffer dire after effects for your selfish thoughts of freedoms, that maybe lawful, but not moral in current times. Let's work together to build a better future, where all our loved ones can be with us. Sorry for the rant, at the free for all at any expense individuals. paul
  17. There will be more tiers before this ends and sadly the Lemmings, selfishly ignoring common sense, doing their own thing, are pushing others of the cliff edge. paul
  18. Second PS on another thread. paul
  19. To all those that left after tier 4 was announced. " Sorry we are now closed to ALL that were not in their tier on Christmas day" For your own safety and the health of those that remained, we have to deny re-admittance. paul
  20. MM. If that's about the size you need look at laminate work tops, bathroom ones are about 20mm. A quick slap of varnish to seal the open edges then sit back and admire your handy work through the bottom of a glass! paul
  21. Political not allowed in forum paul
  22. AHH the NDR, Not for Drivers Route or from the green point of view No Damn Reason. I know one resident of Brundall convinced that it is really a giant cycle route. We have the A69 which is for tractors only, well that's how they drive on a 70mph dual carriageway, but tractors use it as a drag strip, racing each other at 20mph. Mind the A17 has to be the worst road in the world. paul
  23. We thought of downsizing until we realized that would mean leaving our large 3 bedroomed house for a 4 bedroomed mansion! We could still do that, we only bought this house as a temporary stop gap, 19 years ago. paul
  24. MM if Timbo suggested a bar, get him to build it! paul
