  1. I've never run an engine to fire up my eberspacher on this boat or my last, the boat I had before that had a webasto and was outboard powered/charged, that always fired up fine too. You only need to run an engine to start a diesel heater if the batteries are either flat or knackered or the wirings is dodgy.

    Boat Parts

Not one I've ever heard of and I've done plenty of boat bits hunting, what sort of bits are you looking for? New or used?
  3. How can you do that much damage to an outboard without hurting grp?
  4. Yikes! Which casing? Is it useable as it is?
  5. Your are spot on andyg, even on a mere 30 foot boat during the summer months I want to turn back south within 48 hours of heading north, the beer prices go up for the season too which I don't like, at least on the south the prices stay the same and there's usually a mooring (leccy often not available though but I don't need it often during summer) where you aim for and the pubs mostly don't charge for them. Some are worth a call ahead to book a spot in busy times and they will put a reserved board out for you. Southern broads is more relaxed I find, just be careful with the tides, if done right they can help you in.

    Shower Pump

I think the shower sump I had on my old boat had a johnson centrifugal pump and float switch (normal bilge pump stuff) inside and the inlets were filtered via a mesh screen that was easy enough to clean, seemed to last ok and was always on. Now got a diaphram pump on my present boat that needs switching on and off and sounds like a randy frog. 'Kin hell I'm sure I didn't pay that much for it! (£153 from asap) Of course 1 will do multiple showers if so equiped and can take calorifier prv outlet too.
  7. Stick a metal grid on the riverbed and we'll all just tow a mid weight around on a chain, some do anyway.
  8. Even with sewerage it's likely to be all the cleaners that go down the loo that do the worst damage.
  9. Not the best kn*b drawing but good effort for an amateur pilot.
  10. I think they just shot a helicopter down near silverstone. Looks like he made it this time.

    Toilet Make??

Why? That just gives the beach feeling when showering, tell her it's just mud and sand between her toes.
  12. Sorry Griff but not looking great to say the least, attached pic is from windguru and is for pitsford reservoir not too far away from sywell. Times are UTC.
  13. Heck no! I hope WRC stays more or less the same but somehow I doubt it, it was great this summer to be able to pull in and moor up, have a shower for £1 each and a couple of beers in the pub on the way past, so much better than using the boat shower and not having the damp in the boat. Smallish and local always beats nationwide chain to me.
  14. Just spotted it on the YBW forums, never heard of it before and been using and buying this size of bottle for 20 years, always worth checking your bottles just in case as it looks easy enough. Seemed a good idea to share.
  15. Calor.co.uk/recall Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for 4.5kg bottles...
  16. Ian will head the bridge out of the way for them.
  17. Right click and open in new tab to zoom in full size.
  18. Most of southern waters are just brown unless near the ends of navigation, mind you the whole of the east coast is like that so not surprising. It's mostly just silt in suspension.
  19. Let it run till it cuts out and check if the coil is hot, rebuilt engine makes no odds if the spark does a runner. Other thing to check is to open the fuel filler when it cuts out and see if there's a hiss from suction, could be as simple as a tank breather blocked. I have to add I have no experience of that particular engine just engines in general.
  20. In theory if you have hips replaced your average age will have gone down as some bits are brand new.
  21. Well best of luck to those having/had ops, I was supposed to be having a double hernia job done this morning but got a call yesterday afternoon saying they were missing a surgeon so my guy was ditching his elective list and doing the more urgent list, fair play can't argue with that, bloody annoying though after a weekend of self isolation and a frantic month of work catchup in preparation. Oh well try again november 30th, I hope.... Now back at work and grumpy, hence on a boaty forum.
  22. If you have to bite the bullet and get a survey then GJW only want it doing every 10 years now.
  23. Craftinsure will insure boats up to a certain age and size without survey.
  24. That piccie certainly looks like a recommendation to me, very nicely done.
