  1. I think any electric boat would do well to carry an auxiliary outboard as a back up.
  2. Go via st.ives (cambs.) and have a snoop along the sale line at Jones marina, they have always had a busy turnover and probably cheaper than buying on the broads. Ditto going with the biggest you can afford as I've done the step ups (albeit cheaply).
  3. Is she currently managing Chris Packham then or is 'bats in the belfry' just an unfortunate mis-quote?
  4. Yikes! Well the very best of wishes for those of you needing them, I'll stop whining now about the sore bits after my hernia op as they pale into insignificance, but just in case it puts a hint of a smirk on your faces I can announce that as promised in the pre-op call, my pinky-winky has gone tinky-winky! Quite a fetching colour I think. I did ask if they could do a spot of liposuction while there in there but apparently in not a 'buy one get one free' thing they do.
  5. That'll be the one then, I'm only over the river in Eynesbury.
  6. Which one was that? There's one just across town from me.
  7. Or if too big for the forum I have server space.
  8. And lot's of those fermenting plants were grown on land cleared of forest by slash & burn methods pouring all the co2 locked up in the trees back into the atmosphere and then still shipped halfway around the globe, a bit like palm oil and soya to keep the vegans feeling smug. You have to wonder if the full carbon footprint difference is worked out properly on these things.
  9. Mine has a nice spattering of small blisters all over the underside, what am I going to do about it? Sod all! Will it put me off going out to sea in it? Not a jot! It's taken 40 years to get like that so it will likely outlive me and Greta Thunderpants will have a fatwa on my engine bay long before then anyway.
  10. It's because if they sat with their bums to the wind they would whistle and attract predators...
  11. I work the principal that a reaction means it's doing something my immune system may have otherwise done so is now better prepared for the real thing.
  12. You mean a bloke that plugged a machine in that said it was all good, he just knew how to work the maching and nowt about the engine. Scanners are pointless unless a fault is actually happening but intermittants are the worst and need mk1 eyeballs adding to the equation preferably linked directly to a mk1 brain).
  13. I would guess aweigh uses predictions and not weather related effects so don't rely on it too much. A good northerly or easterly wind will make it way higher as will low pressure.
  14. Due to hit and miss works Christmas do's we somehow got into a workshop tradition of pick a day when most are in and chuck a fiver in each and get a USA chicken order together, the chicken shop normally chuck a load of extras in an we commandeer an office for the pig out, generally this results in lunch 1/2 hour being well over an hour and all feeling I'll for the rest of the day. Can't wait...
  15. I must be ok at the moment, I've done 2 pcr tests in 2 days (both neg), 1st was one of the randomly picked survey tests that are being done through the post, 2nd was for getting hernia done tomorrow (hopefully), it's gonna look strange on the nhs app, I will look like a right hypochondriac.
  16. It seems if you had AZ for the first two jabs you will likely get pfizer for booster or if pfizer for first two the moderna as booster, I had the latter and found the moderna booster a bit of a headbanger with a headache and general fuzzyness for a few days and heard a few folk say the same, would I have it again? Hell yes, such a small price in comparison. While I have slacked off in some small shops I have used a mask in any supermarkets where the average iq seems to plummet for some reason, probably just because there's more people there the idiots stand out. I've not used public transport since the rules eased so can't comment on that. I'm technically exempt from masks by way of astma but have never felt them a big problem except glasses steaimg up, luckily I can take mine off for close stuff, so I have used masks the same as everyone else, there's been far too many people clutching at excuses for an exemption for such a minor inconvenience. As for lack of colds and flu, a fair chunk of that could be lack of cash handling as it's always been a big spreader of bugs and also a general low level in the population due to last years distancing, but it will be back. Who knows how omicron will play out, it could have evolved into the next nasty or could have evolved closer to something we already have immunity for, only time will tell and it's better to stretch that time out so we can react than just go headlong into it. If masks keeps businesses (especially pubs....) open bring em on.
  17. Everywhere has changed, the ice has retreated.... Sorry couldn't resist.
  18. I told you not to lick the handles of galvanised shopping trolleys, don't post it on youtube or it might go viral.
  19. For many years the EA have avoided dredging at all costs on the river great ouse and would rather build headline grabbing flood defences instead, this means less headroom and more places where you can hit the bottom, oh yes and more flooding upstream. It would seem the silt is now considered as hazardous waste and can't possibly be used to rebuild flood banks beside the river (like they often do on the broads) containing the same pollutants so instead it's left to flood and drop it's silt over the banks anyway, but that's nature not waste of course. When they have to dredge small sections they leave the spoil safely (don't forget it's all hazardous waste) in the river in heaps elsewhere and guess what happens, it gets washed into the next tight spot. The bottom line is that dredging is an expensive and ongoing thing to do and no headlines or photo oportunities are created and you won't ever get a knighthood without them. Hence I now boat on the broads. The nearest the EA really get to anything nautical is rhyming with "anchors".
  20. The expensive part of your plan has already been done in the form of the newer bridge, the rest is the easy bit, I recon we could sell to a daft yank under the pretence it's a much posher bridge like wot london did, maybe trump could incorporate it into his wall (he won't notice the drug mule sized gap under it).
  21. Smoggy

    Condensation

How about if I get a methane powered kettle?

    Condensation

Of course if gas is being burnt it means there must be people on board and those pesky humans with their incessant breathing habit chucks out water in abundance, and they just won't stop doing it even in their sleep (unless of course they have ignored Vaughn's last comment). I usually try to offset my water output by emitting methane at the same rate but that is another issue....
  23. What do you want a moped for, is it an upgrade for the tiger? Oh mophead, sorry.
  24. If using any type of gooey sealant check the frames still fit the hole before before applying the gunge.
  25. Or maybe he didn't intend keeping the children that long.
