  1. Grendel, if you do upgrades and fix bits of issues in the course of lads week, I'm sure you don't need to hire from anywhere, there may be a queue of us offering our boats up for you - now, where did I put the to do list.....
  2. Another cutie- those eyes!
  3. Yes many congrats Carole, have a wonderful day!
  4. I really enjoyed the write up and the pics, and have to say the "mini beast" is just too cute
  5. The weather has been perfect Have seen the old NBN symbol here and there on boats out and about, and even spotted Malanka 'in the flesh' floating around Womack in the sun- stunning! Now I just need more of this weather next month too, I wonder where I can put the order in....
  6. My pring is now sparkling, my pringer spaniel walked and all is good with the world. Now, what to do with the sunny afternoon
  7. Defo the pringer spaniel too
  8. Well it's pring cleaning day today, so am right now on the dirty boat, by lunchtime I'm hoping to be on the clean one
  9. Great pic! I'm just having morning brew in the sun at PH- do love this quiet time of the day
  10. I don't know what's most appropriate here - "brave" or "death wish"......
  11. I’m loving the tales, so very engaging. Please do post more- I cannot wait to read the next instalments!
  12. Sincere condolences for your loss Alan, my thoughts are with you and your family. I hope you will be able to take some comfort and strength from the kind words of your many friends here at NBN at this difficult time x
  13. Looking very confident there Robin, quiet and smooth, making ground nicely. As long as you stay calm, and take it all one step at a time without rushing then you will be all good!
  14. OMG!!!!!! What a brilliant idea..... To keep Griff happy, they must be able to be be pulled up for all usual and straightforward journeys, but mandatory deployment for all supermarket car parks should be in place.... What is it with those places? it's like being on the dodgem rink at a fairground...I am always on complete alert if I enter such areas as it seems to draw more than it's fair share of "less spatially aware" drivers.... IMHO obv
  15. Yay- well done LR, am really pleased for you!
  16. Good on you Robin, remember how you found the strength and concentration to complete the majority of the requirements well, many others wouldn't have been able to do that. Now carefully file that memory away somewhere accessible- it will prove invaluable in the moments before your next test!
  17. Oh no, you must be really disappointed. However, my advice for what it’s worth would be not to dissect the reasons for him not giving the pass any further, but actually park that right now. ( pun may have been intended!!) Rather, focus on the areas of the test that you did well and where no issues were evidenced - they will be far more numerous I’m sure. You were clearly well prepared for this test, you feel reasonably confident in your ability and have the considered opinion of your instructor who has far more experience of your driving than anyone else and who is clearly surprised it wasn’t a clear tick this time. Don’t forget you are in good company- a good proportion of people don’t get the pass first time- it really just gives you even more experience to take forward into your next test! Enjoy lads week, and then get the papers in for round 2
  18. I'm only surprised Lathams don't sell tigers....?
  19. Very best wishes for a speedy recovery! a sage reminder of how fortunate we are to have emergency services and the angels of the NHS when we need them....
  20. So, clocked the lovely BA in the flesh (or should that be very carefully looked after timber?) for the first time yesterday- what a beaut ?
  21. I think the Lakeside is perfect, stunning location and views- I got married there
  22. Just a suggestion, but might you consider sharing MOB/safety procedures on the forum? Obviously I may have missed something, but can’t remember seeing a quick guide/ hints/tips kind of thing on the handy information section covering this type of thing? It may be that forum needs to check with a recognised training org before publishing something, but I think it would be a valuable resource for both newbies and some not-so-newbies to check we’ve all covered our bases- never too old to learn something, or at least take comfort in knowing you know it!
  23. Thank you Wyndham, but it’s nowt more than a good dose of common sense, the most precious things in my life are those two little beings. My kids + their safety = my responsibility. Simple sum really... It’s a shame there wasn’t a ranger around to see what you did today, I’m sure a few words of advice would have been carefully imparted.
