  1. If my memory serves me well (not always the case) I think you can purchase a weekly ticket to park at Lathams for £8.50. May be someone visiting Lathams can look at the sign with the prices on it to confirm. I am positive that Maycraft pick up their hirers from the car park and from what I can recall you can drive your car to the side of the staithe as a temporary measure just to load and unload. I think that is where the River Taxi goes from. May be somebody else knows more.
  2. Lisa and family you are in my thoughts. So sad, Keith was a fantastic chap.
  3. I can only reiterate what others have said before. Such a lovely chap, and will be such a loss to Lisa and the family.
  4. Saw you go past at Potter Heigham in Trixie on the day of the World Cup Match in which England were playing. Did wonder if you would go through the bridge..
  5. More room than you can shake a stick at tonight. Lots of holiday makers making the most of this opportunity to get under the bridge. May be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
  6. Yes thank God the little chaps are ok. Cannot imagine how their parents are feeling. We'll done to everyone.
  7. Moon Discovery has just gone through loads of room. 4Hrs before low tide. Moon Voyager just going as well. Be standing room only up there soon. .
  8. Just watched Carousel go through the bridge.
  9. Yes may be tiny on the scale of some but it really is a smart little number and knocks spots off others we have seen. HW must be doing something right as you want to see the boats pouring out of there on Friday/Saturday off on their holidays. As for the day boats , luxury or basic they go like hot cakes in this weather.
  10. No they don't allow them through the Bridge, only their day boats. Saw this up at Hickling, looks really smart.
  11. Is it called Slea ..... I cannot recall the name , we stayed on a single mooring the first day. We hired Bittern. Came back to the holiday cottage with the boat and then went off again the next day. Will say it is quite an education watching privateers over staying at the 24 hour mooring. Watched all the tricks, turning the boat, moving up a couple of boats. .
  12. There are some really smashing moorings up there. Such a shame it is a rarity that holiday makers cannot get up their that often with their boats. Not only the moorings shown in the piccy but a load of others. What a waste.
  13. This is how it used to be, pilot run off his feet for a change. Shame about the duck and goose poo you have to wade through to get to the pilots office. Fantastic weather everyone making the most of it. Hubby caught huge Bream up there. They were like dinner plates.
  14. Just had two fantastic days up at Hickling Can tell you tonight there is fag paper width between the Richardsons boats up at the pub at Hickling Broad. 26 years ago we were up there , with this weather , quite like old times. .
  15. I have to say the pilot has been doing a roaring trade today. Lots of boats going through bit like times gone by. lovely weather .

    Wow!

Takes a special kind of talent to make a meal stretch, I learnt this from my old Mum. Mind you that was before birth of all of these flakey people who today have to have a special meal cooked for them every day. In my day it was eat up or go without.

    Wow!

£9.40 I could feed a family of four for that.
  18. What a good idea. Anything that stops you have to panic about keeping fresh meat or poultry at 4 degrees is ok in my book. These days people are far too fussy. Saves worrying about the fridge on a boat.
  19. Lovely early morning with a light mist on the water. Reversed out of the staithe and turned on the broad, then made our way to Richardsons for a pump out (red indicator not lit but played safe) and refilled with water. Then up to Wayford Bridge and back to How Hill. I personally never trust these indicator lights for the loo. Every 3/4 days regardless , the sniff test is also a good one to go by. It just makes everything nice and fresh again. Loved the video.
  20. That is how we tie up. You can only do so much , if the brain dead are out to get you then they will. One day they will come unstuck and get their come uppance.
  21. Oh dear, defeatist attitude once more. Will you take pleasure if they fail?
  22. England are. 5 - 0 up, just hold your breath. Thank God for a proper ref.
  23. Thank you for the heads up, much appreciated.
  24. Really top notch as usual Geoffrey. I would serve with whole grain rice and cannot get to grips with coos coos. Thank you once again.
