Herby Woods Face Book page will not allow posts 'at this time'. I wonder why......

  3. Hope he didn't crash in that hired buggy :naughty:
  4. Thank goodness there's good, honest ENGLISH whisky just down the road ! Don't have to buy that Scottish muck ANY MORE! :naughty:
  5. I hate' em. My bowsprit won't go through tin :naughty:
  6. Well, watched the recording this afternoon, and I now understand why we are seeing more 'Narras' on the Broads. Ive never seen so many piles of unloved JUNK in my life. Admittedly there were one or two decent, clearly cared for vessels there, but junk with rubbish piled on the roofs( and hanging over the sides in some cases. I wonder how many were even insured, let alone with a valid BSS certificate!
  7. Why would Clive do that ? You wouldn't use so much diesel then, would you ? :naughty:
  8. Ran out of fuel.... do you mean the wind stopped ? :naughty:
  9. Th'oll trees round that pond narr Wroxam way myst have grown whooly talll to need a stick like tha'.
  10. I'm definitely a nutter ! I don't have any yellow pills - as for the blue ones, thanks for the reminder, I need a repeat prescription :naughty:
  11. Agreed. I would add that if any member has yet to complete his '50', the fact that a PM was needed in his case should be taken into consideration.
  12. You know - the one that filters objectionable language. Why is an apparently 'US 'version used here? We have our OWN - arguably the proper - version of English where some words have retained their original meaning. In another thread about donation boxes on moorings we see *** where the posted word would appear to be f a g. Now, we all know that the Septics use that word as slang for homosexual - but WE don't. Have others noticed any similar anomalies?
  13. You already do! Why do you think boats must pay a toll?
  14. Well, according to R. Norfolk this morning (Sunday 19th) the A47 re opened last evening at 10.00pm, although scheduled to remain closed until Monday at 6.00 am. People make plans, and these cowboys inconvenience them,. The effect on businesses in Gt Yarmouth etc must be harsh, when it need not have been!! Parties in beer making establishments come to mind!
  15. Some of the visitors can leave a little to be desired - I don't know what they expect to find here. A while back we met a couple on holiday somewhere warm. We were telling each other where we came from. " Norfolk Broads? Went theer once, never agin, there weer nowt but watter an' views" came the comment.
  16. I've just had to replace one of these on my boat - £32 including VAT http://www.asap-supplies.com/marine/remote-bracket-mounted-water-strainers-plastic/vetus-raw-water-intake-strainer-150-filter150 The clear lid had somehow developed a crack over the winter( boat stored ashore, cooling system fully drained down). Mind you, it was the original and nearly 30 years old .
  17. 'ha''s a boo' owl' friend ;)
  18. I really can't see the attraction of Ranworth. Sorry, It's like mooring in an overcrowded, noisy car park!
  19. It's open! http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/pub_on_the_norfolk_broads_opens_community_shop_three_years_after_being_saved_from_closure_1_4035140 Opening hours are 8am till 6pm Monday to Saturday and 8am till 2pm Sundays. They deserve our support.
  20. Afraid not - I had a boat full of clients on a trip with the Nancy Oldfield Trust.
  21. It was brilliant on Barton today, and the ice cream man was doing a roaring trade
  22. Anybody with only basic skills , some ply offcuts, a few screws and a bit of glue can make a a removal tool....
