  1. To be honest the best effect would be to confiscate their phones and destine them to a crusher, with no access for their data, that would hurt them more than any fines or points.
  2. I use malwarebytes and have done so since it first became available. Regards Alan

  4. Hi Jayfire, www.boatshare.co.uk list all the syndicates for narrow boats and Broads based cruisers. Lightening (private), Thunder (BCBM), Moonlight Shadow (BCBM), Southern Crusader (private) and Ranworth Breeze (private) are all based at Brundall on the Southern Broads. Blue Mist (private), Evening Shadow (BCBM), Goosander (private) and Silver Cloud (BCBM) are all based on the Northern Broads. On the forum we have a number of owners in most of these syndicates, so if you need any advice please ask. Regards Alan
  5. Hello Jayfire, Have another look at syndicate ownership on the Broads, there are around ten boats that can be bought into. Some do have fixed weeks, others you draw your allocations out the hat, most offer swapping weeks with other owners or renting their weeks if they can not use their allocations.I There are a few weeks for sale on some of the syndicate boats, we have two standard shares for sale but at the moment no school weeks shares, we also have one of our owners who is waiting for a school share. The syndicate route is not for everyone, but we feel for us it has been the route of endless Broads holidays since 2001. Regards Alan

  14. I am afraid I would have walked out of the shop. There are some on Ebay from £80 to £159, but to be honest the times I wellies I would not pay anymore that £40 for a decent pair. Regards Alan
  15. Does anyone know what the current state of play is with regards to the roll-out of the new electric posts on the 24 hour moorings. I enquired at the Tingdene Marina office last week, they have placed an order for the Broads Authority new £1 electric cards, but have not had an indication of when these will be available. Regards Alan
  16. Hi Richard, Like yourself I will use any form of pin or anchors if needed, I have had a number of failures of pins on the canals and prefer the mooring hooks. There are a few places on the Southern Broads where mooring hooks can be used, but not many. Regards Alan
  17. Sue Hines has just posted on Facebook the following:- "Unbelievably, the Broads Authority is commissioning new train station signs welcoming people to the national park which is not a national park! Beccles will be the first lucky station to have a sign promoting the park with other signage to follow around the Broads. " Regards Alan

  22. Now back at home after leaving Brundall this afternoon, carpets have now been fitted, boat cleaned inside and out ready for the season. The engineers have looked at the boat finally since I asked them to meet with me to on Monday, well it was Thursday when they turned up, not too long for Norfolk Jobs that should have been done in December still to be done, work that needs rectifying. The joys of boat ownership and management. Regards Alan
  23. Hi Griff, You had better lay quite a few tiles to pay for that lot. As you say gift horses do not come round too often. Just store it well until needed. Regards Alan

  25. Back in the day guys working on three phase road cabling used to spike a cable as proof that it should be off. We had to work a companies distribution room once where copper thieves had started cutting through a 6.5K incoming feed into their transformer. They had cut through the outer insulation and through the steel wire and were onto the inner insulation before hitting the three phase cores, before they gave in, it certainly saved their lives. Regards Alan
