  5. On the Ranworth Breeze Syndicate we have 6 school shares and 14 standard shares. The school shares currently our drawn at the yearly AGM which give each owner a week in the summer school holidays and a week in the first 6 weeks of the season, we agreed at this years AGM to implement a cascading or rolling allocation on the school weeks from 2021. Our 14 standard weeks are split into green and red weeks which alternate each year, one year you draw from the hat in the green weeks, the following year the red weeks, this gives you a varied experience of the Broads throughout the year (other than the school weeks). It works for us. Regards Alan

  7. That a good point John, no doubt if you contacted most syndicates they will tell you stories of the "shareholder from hell". The way around this is to have a good contract and a means of management to remove the shareholder from the syndicate if they are in breach of their contract. As Speedtriple (Neil) says that the price of the share mostly puts off troublesome owners, but sadly it does happen and action needs to be taken for the benefit of the syndicate as a whole. Regards Alan Chairman & Trustee Ranworth Breeze Boat Syndicate
  8. I paid the £448.47 river toll on behalf of the Ranworth Breeze Boat Syndicate for our river toll earlier this year; the boat is a 34 foot Birchwood 340AC cruiser. Are you thinking of your mooring fee? Regards Alan
  9. You can check out the current shares for sale at BCBM. https://www.bcbm.co.uk/boats/broads-cruisers.html Regards Alan
  10. Hi MM pukka pies might be that cheap but hardly a marine engine, some of the syndicate boats have paid over triple that amount for a replacement engine. Regards Alan

  14. Hi Tim, Stanley Unwin would be proud of you.
  15. Hello Steve, Welcome to the forum. Regards Alan
  16. If we are on our home moorings, its a case of going to the showers, call into the Yare for a few drinks and a meal, by the log fire if out of season. Back on the boat, it is heating on for a short while, hot water bottles to air the beds before retiring. A fleece on top of the bed keeps you toasty warm and any condensation tends to be on the top of the fleece which can be dried during the day. I tend to like all my time on the boat no matter what time of the year, you just have to dress accordingly, plenty of gloves, hats, jumpers and waterproof coats if the weather turns bad. Regards Alan

  21. We cull all items that are not part of the boats itinerary at the season start. Space is always a problem on any boat, you have to balance what is necessary and what is overkill and leave other items as part of the owners boat kit that they bring with them and take away at the end of their allocation. Regards Alan
  22. I am surprised that Moonlight Shadow does not have life jackets that are supplied and maintained by the syndicate. On Ranworth Breeze we have 4 auto inflate life jackets, and a range of smaller sized life jackets. Regards Alan
  23. I often despair when I see people treating their pets other than just pets, carrying dogs for example when there is nothing wrong with them. Regards Alan
