  1. My sister keeps calling me a "crouton", I haven't worked out just why yet.
  2. Excellent, I have no come-back for that
  3. In a basket of course.... Honestly !!!
  4. Ahhh now that is another, and very interesting route for the thread to take. Our introduction to alcohol.... ... ...Mmmmmm
  5. I have no business saying this but I've just got back from a good session from the pub so here goes...... and if I'm wrong I apologise. Stationarystill (Malcolm) is involved in a "debate" on the other forum with RickH on this subject. I believe Rickh and Ricardo to be one and the same person. Well however friendly we wish to be on this forum, I personally have no great desire to see the debates over there repeated here verbatim. Neither member here has reached the 50 posts required to be full members here, but when they do I shall not be supporting that membership to either party unless either one of them can give evidence of interest in other subjects discussed on this forum, and can give some level of undertaking to be less confrontational here than they are there. I post this in open forum as to do otherwise could be construed as "hiding" behind membership privilege. If this post gets me a slapped wrist, I shall take it, but at least I've been open and frank about my position.
  6. This whole issue is a tax on the poor, as not only do the lower paid tend to buy older cars, but now they find that the car they bought has just lost any re-sale value.
  7. Come off it Alan, some people do amazing things with or on carpet.
  8. I can't see that M, There are boats manoeuvring ahead of the two brink craft and we have no knowledge of what lead up to the position we see in the picture. What's the wind doing? How close to each other were they 2 minutes before the still was taken? Was the turning boat making more of a meal of it than he should? How many of the crew involved were novices and how many were experts... and which were which? Was the lead boat of the pair going astern? Finally, was there any contact post pic? or were the helmsmen the sorts of experts we dream of becoming? No, Sorry M, I refuse to be critical of anyone involved without a lot more information... which we are unlikely to get. Whoops, edited to add... It might not help novices who read these forums to gain confidence thinking that their every move in a busy spot is highlighted like this
  9. It's a funny thing Speedtriple, You put your views forwards and I find myself either agreeing with every word or screaming at the computer that you're wrong. I never seem to find an opinion of yours halfway between the two. On this occasion I'm with you wholeheartedly. The reason that London is suffering from air pollution is that there are too many vehicles in it, flying over it or generally poofing their poo into it. Diesel or petrol, it doesn't really matter, they pollute. The rechargeable electric car does too, it just ***** it's poo somewhere else, but it's still poofing it.
  10. Yeah, really worrying when that happens, I usually rush off for a beer or six when it happens to me.
  11. There is absolutely no effort required to look "snobby", you just have to make sure you don't look like all the oiks around you.
  12. That's the trouble with the general public, they let just anyone in.
  13. When one travels from A to B it is almost inevitable that one will need to go through C and maybe even the rest of the alphabet. It is equally inevitable that some of the other places, M for example, might be less attractive than B, and S may even be a complete S*** hole. Wroxham is quite a long way through the alphabet, though not as far as Yarmouth. Places beyond Yarmouth (in the alphabet) tend to be in other counties and are not linked to the Broads National Carr Park. In some ways Acle is very close to Yarmouth, yet in others separated by a scenic alphabetic and cultural gulf. I hope this explanation helps you Peter, if only to understand how wise people with diesel engines really are.
  14. JM, Other stretches are available.
  15. Ok, Now I'm really confused, I checked a post that had 15 likes. I wrote a list of the order of likes. When I went to re-check a detail, the names were in a different order. Computers are logical, to make a computer do something random is very difficult. How does this list work???????
  16. Yup dnks, That's the way I see it too.
  17. Damn !!! I've been rumbled !! If it wasn't for those meddling kids I'd have gotten away with it !
  18. I wonder if a certain CEO will ever realise that he is in charge of a National Carr Park.
  19. I have, for some months now, been curious about posts that have been "liked" and have wondered about the order the likes are displayed. They are not in time date order, nor are they in alphabetical order. What order are they in please? I just wondered. Perhaps if loads of you "liked" this post I might be able to work it out.
  20. And the distinct odour of haddock
  21. Great, somewhere for me to keep my bee..... Great, somewhere for me to keep your bee..... Great, somewhere for you to keep my bee... Great, somewhere for you to keep your bee... Great, somewhere for us to kee... Great, somewhere for the beer.
  22. No, it's quite true, you will be back to the boat.
