No mill at the end of Short Dyke.  I too have seen the post on Faceache and as I've only managed to visit the location twice in all of the years I've visited The Broads due to a certain obstacle that makes access difficult to most of us these days, I'd never have guessed!

Correct Grendel. Weeds not too bad had to clear the prop a couple of times.

Moorings were a bit messy when we were there on Little Gem 4 in May 86 - did manage to get to the Lion for a pint though.

Our trip a year later on Star Monarch 1 (August 87) and the moorings were a bit overgrown.

I thought it was West Somerton.   Doh !! just read Grendels post.    I was thinking doesnt look Rockland and then read the above posts.

The good old days when you could get up there.   Had some real fun and games in the dim and distant past turning outside that house at the end.    We had not got a clue.   The wind was always howling and turning the boat always seemed an impossibility.  When you finally managed it , what a really lovely peaceful mooring.   Pub just around the corner that stocked most things if you ran out.

I live about half hour walk from there but doubt I'll ever get my boat there thanks to that bridge!
