Nice Place To stay Pre Boating

Hi, Virgin boater here again!

So if I hired a boat from Ferry Marina, where is a good place to stay (will have a car) the night pre-boat-pick-up.

It would not have to be at Horning.  Even 30-60 mins away would be fine.

Any suggestions please?

Depending what you are looking for I tend to find that a Premier Inn is as good as anywhere. I used one recently which was at Broadlands Business Park just off the A47, east of Norwich. Room was great, bed very comfortable and the food good in the Brewers Fayre restaurant. All very well organised and COVID secure.

There’s a Travelodge in Acle, which is pretty handy for Horning. Haven’t stayed there though. The only place we’ve stayed overnight in the area, apart from on a boat, is the Norwich Holiday Inn on the Ipswich Road, just off the A47, which is pretty convenient for getting to the Broads.

I've not stayed for several years now but take a look at the hotel Wroxham, great location to get a boaty start to the holiday.  Especially if you have a balcony overlooking the river.

Not cheap either, for this time of year, £135 per night

I saw that when we were looking. Premier Inn was £38 and exactly what we needed.

I've stayed in the Premier Inn in Duke Street Norwich a couple of times. There's discounted parking in the multi-storey next door. Norwich is a lovely city to have a wander round, and obviously there are loads of options for eating out.

The old Hotel Nelson by the river in Norwich, may well be a Premier Inn too.

If you stay at the Travelodge, Acle you can make the 3 minute drive to the Bridge Inn at Acle riverside for an evening drink and meal (and Scooters Cafe within walking distance of the Travelodge will serve you a good breakfast in the morning)

We have previously stayed at The Brick Kilns at Little Plumstead. Nice pub and a good menu.

What the fudge is going on with this website 

The travelodge at Acle is sound mate, cheap..cheerful..and as mentioned already, very local and handy for many facilities if you choose to not make full use of the bed available 

Unless the lady in your life is a bit posh......the type that shops at waitrose

I like Premier Inn also and I've stayed at the Norwich riverside one which is a lovely location. I've also used Acle Travelodge a few times and it can be a cheap option but not always.

I’ve stayed at the Premier Inn by the river in Norwich as well. That was also very good, just depends whether you want to be going into the city centre.
