Smifco
Hi all, Im new to this boating thing but am thinking how nice it would be if I could hire a houseboat for a short break weekend then follow it up with a short break midweek on a boat Is this possible? I found a houseboat at Wroxham called Marinella which might fit the bill and a couple of the reviews said that the owner hired them his dayboat so they could cruise the local waterways but its bookable through hoseasons so I cant contact the owner to ask about his boat hire. Now I know most houseboats come with a dinghy but thats not really what I want, I would ideally like to hire a cruiser. So the question is does anyone know of a firm that might be able to offer a package deal for houseboat/boat or am I asking too much? The internet seems to be a bit sparse on combining the two. Anyway if anyone has ever tried this combo or has any advice I would be very grateful to hear from you so Thanks in advance guys
Ray
Welcome to the forum 🙂 I'm sure that more knowledgeable members than me will be along in the morning. Meanwhile I think that the combination you are looking for may have to be booked as seperate breaks. I imagine it's possible though and sounds like great holiday! Also maybe consider a riverside property for the first part of your break rather than specifically a houseboat, you may find a wider range of options. Good luck 👍

Bluebell
How about a chalet/cruiser combination? Maybe try Herbert Woods - with the advantage of direct booking…😎

grendel
some of the chalets come with a day boat as standard, so well worth considering.
Tempest
If you like the Horning / Wroxham area it may be worth considering these https://www.watersidebreaks.com/description/watersidegrandlodge.htm They are off Grebe Island next to both JB Boats https://www.jbboats.co.uk/ And Norfolk Boat Hire who both offer day boats for short or longer bookings at a reasonable price http://www.norfolkboathire.co.uk/index.html In addition you also have Boulter's Marine who offer day boat hire A good website to check is here https://www.norfolkbroadsboathire.biz/dayboathire.asp But as others have said, you may have to compromise and book the houseboat and day boats separately

We hired an electric day boat from Whispering Reeds one year as we wanted to enjoy the peace and quiet that you get cruising above Potter Heigham bridge. We fancied a week by the river and are in the process of booking a houseboat for a week in April with them. Cheers!
