  1. Welcome aboard from us, Pete!
  2. The headache has gone away now, iain, though Janet's kind administrations and the Glenmorangie did still the pain somewhat! I later swayed back to the New Inn for a couple and met the charming folks off Ranworth Breeze... stayed out way too late! I got away at 07.10 this morning but managed a few of pics before (more to follow when I start our blog later this week)
  3. The Cleaning Team and I are heading past there in 3 hours; so I'll let you know about delay times later.... and Mary-Jane and I are going past there for our trip oop North tomorrow... :cry
  4. That's a bit harsh, Poppy I live only 3 miles from the St George's distillery and still prefer Glenmorangie!
  5. Look out for yourself, Mate. We're coming to see you next week! And I promise not to drink in your presence.....
  6. A very warm "Welcome Aboard" from us, Stuart! :clap
  7. Wussername, Hi. What about the missing Bye Law? Bye Law 1/4 MURPHY'S LAW
  8. Which Wherry, please, Charlie?
  9. Paul,Hi We used to go across to Holland a couple of times a year on these two! 23ft 24ft 6ins
  10. Jasper, Hi. The problem is the scrotes may use a petrol-powered angle grinder to take out the transom and all the fittings together with the outboard. I am an supporter of Jon's methods, drastic though they may be!
  11. Friday Girl is an all-electric boat and if we're not connected to shore-power we have to start our 1500cc genny-engine for a cuppa... but BB's fitted an underwater exhaust system to it and beyond a few feet you just can't hear it... Perhaps the way to go?
  12. A warm "Welcome Aboard", Juli! :clap
  13. Yes, it would be nice to win a game in Europe, Mark!
  14. Robin, Hi. In Holland they insist on a 500 Euro deposit when you hire a boat... and check them for scrapes when you return.
  15. What a lovely first day, David! :clap
  16. My own particular nightmare is Reedham with a Northerly (off-shore) wind and a Spring tide in full ebb. As I moor-up solo, the run from the helm to the stern of our Alpha and then the attempted leap ashore is sometimes getting a wee bit beyond my old bones!
  17. I'm sure you'll get plenty of suggestions at the Meet, Jasper!
  18. "The forum is now a place where people do actually login in to make use of Broads information to find out if anything will disrupt their visit to the Broads, where to get that repair done or that service undertaken, what pubs are open or where to go for that BSS inspection. Forum members talk or debate with the friends they have made, share jokes good or as usual very bad, boating tips are given, advice and reports of restoration and projects are very well received and enjoyed by all, likewise tales from members holidays on the Broads or from other waterways. We are advised of there is no such thing as too many shoes, scooters may go faster with stripes, its nice to have a broad at the bottom of ones garden and if in any doubts "Get off of my Land" The NBN the friendly forum." Well said, Alan! :clap
  19. Which poles are these, please? (I've looked at the Screwfix catalogue).
  20. We've got ours in the very near future but the engine's still winterised and sans water impeller... do they have to see the engine running in the test, please?
