  1. So has anyone got a bright idea on what we can do with it? We're off to the Meet in two weeks time and we'll be afloat the week before and two weeks after.... As previously stated there's only so much you can keep onboard and fly-tipping is just not an option for us. :cry
  2. We're back! Lots of "Hello's" and "great to be home" to all and everyone.... just cleared 2365 e-mails from the inbox..... Will need another few days to wind down from the last 15 weeks... will try to get a few pics out over the weekend... now having tea and a few beers later tonight in The Eagle, Hic! Only two weeks and we'll be back afloat.. so looking forward to the Meet!
  3. We travelled down the new A11 Elveden by-pass yesterday enroute Southampton and by golly gosh, was it an improvement! :clap
  4. Sounds good, Neil. We do something similar to a lamb joint by making slits quite deeply in it and pushing in pieces of anchovy, garlic and a sprig of rosemary. It gives the lamb a lovely flavour!
  5. DO pay attention, please, Roy and Diane!
  6. That's a wonderful poem, Wussername. We lost our Jim last May, shortly after he was 14 years old........... he was well known around the Norfolk pubs for drinking the first few inches of my pint. His favourite tipple was Adnams Southwold!
  7. What a wonderful read, Paul... I echo Grace's sentiments entirely! :clap
  8. I think Howard said 35ft, Neil, and the layout seems very similar to our own Alpha 35.
  9. When we had an 18ft plywood boat we used an old "Grocer's" 14lb weight which I 'Hammerited'. It held us on Surlingham Broad comfortably overnight. I'd probably go for 28lb now!
  10. Robin, you may well have that many to go but if the yardstick was artistic quality we'd ALL be a long way behind you!
  11. Well done, Peter! 1000 posts in just five months.... It took me a year!
  12. "Frightenings", we used to call 'em, Iain!
  13. My ever-lasting memories whenever Coltishall is mentioned!
  14. The "pop" man delivering pop on the back of his horse and cart. Asking in the local baker's shop for "Any old stale cakes?". Frozen lolly-pop sticks (you didn't need coupons for them!). Buying cinnamon sticks from the chemist shop to smoke,,,,,, honestly! Fetching Dad from the local National Fire Services club at 1.15pm on a Sunday for his lunch! He and his mates were on a short pink-slip but still managed their gallon of Hewitts' Mild each Sunday lunchtime. Making a canoe out of an orange box, Mum's washing prop and some old canvas... my pal (who could just swim) tried it out in Grimsby Docks.... it turned turtle and sank! (He's still my pal to this day! All of these were in the mid to late 40's when no-one had heard of H&S. We had nothing during and immediately after the Second World War and had to make all our own entertainment............................
  15. First it will be to meet lots of old, and hopefully new, friends at the Spring Meet!
  16. Blimey, Mandy, the met Office says you were getting SW 30, gusting 45 mph..... :shocked Today is a bit better, WSW 22, gusting38 mph..... if I was going anywhere I'd make it Beccles, as its quite sheltered there from a W'ly wind by the trees and buildings across the river.
  17. And welcome aboard from us, Mal, on the good ship NBN! (Sorry we missed your original post... we were on our last trip aboard (this year) over the first week in December).
  18. A bit cold though, eh, Peter? :shocked
  19. Taken off the market already, Strow.
  20. Welcome Back! I've personally missed some of your more hysterical finnies!
  21. Tap on their avatar and then tap on "add me as friend". As I did with you, Howard, many pints ago! (This has nothing to do with Facebook, Strow, my "friend!"). If you're already a " friend" then it will say "remove me as friend".
  22. Caroline was born and lived just across The Street from us, here in Gt Hockham... a Good ol' Norfolk Lass! :clap
