  1. After reading about his visit to Upton, it reminded me of the tremendous amount of work he has done here https://dumfries-house.org.uk/ He has put his own money into this project. Good luck to him, I say. This is the side of the Royals we often never hear about. Iain
  2. A good excuse to head to Norfolk once the job is completed Iain
  3. You can indeed JM, but I believe he is trying to help his good ladies fears/phobias. If the Dover ferry scared her then, a wobbly yacht won't help matters IMHO Iain
  4. I have looked through Bittern when we stayed at the houseboat there. It is a very well fitted out boat, as Boddog said. You would not be disappointed hiring from there. Iain
  5. Don't know if the Broadlander paper, will be out by then, if it is, it has lots of local information. Enjoy your March and August hols. Iain

  16. Where is the cricket ground there? I've been to the footy ground many times, have stayed in Dingwall for short breaks, never saw a cricket ground though. Iain
  17. TheQ, they say the same about Dingwall, there has been several lady weather forecasters who hail from there, they got the job because of their excellent diction. Iain

  20. Hi Nigel, Welcome aboard the NBN Forum. Iain.
  21. We have brown bins for garden waste, collected twice a month from late February till late October, they in turn sell later as compost £2.00p a bag. Blue bins for glass, paper and plastic, and green for general waste from your house. It appears to work well so far after approx 10 years or so. Iain
  22. My father was a butcher/ hamcurer, so From a very early age was spoiled in the eating of quality meats, both beef and pork. Sadly today, I think the recipes have changed, and not for the better IMHO. Even our "square sliced" beef sausage it nothing like as tasty as it use to be. I believe certain E numbers have something to do with it, but not100% sure. We use to buy the pork snorkers from the butcher in Horning many years ago they were delicious. Iain
  23. These items are NEVER IN the front of a cupboard.....are they? Iain
