Mowjo. Regard fitting a timer.....
Just done mine and it's a godsend in these mornings! No more
getting up in the cold to put the kettle on. Lovely.
Took about an hour to change over.
Cost £110. Bargain in those circumstances..
Matt..........
Only 17 days afloat so far this year......
Just had 6 days with lovely weather too.
Jealous yet?
Oh, nearly forgot. Under the bridge.....Easy!
I can't for the life of me remember where I got my figures from but
I do remember them as being 'Average' rise and fall. When I can find
the source again I will post it on here.
It's on a chain Besides, they would'nt know if it was in the
mud or 'just hanging out'. Much easier to pinch one they can see...it
might be just a cast iron one for all they know.
To add my tuppenth worth....
Here is a golden opportunity! A small section set aside for newspapers, milk, eggs,
bread etc. I believe will make money. In the season there are usually a lot of boats
moored by the green but you can't even get a morning paper!
Do it Richard, you know you want to
I made my own from stainless steel bought at an auto jumble for £10.
Also I have just ordered some new registration numbers from the tolls
office for £5. A bargain!!
Edited to add that it is easier to change the toll sticker every year too!
I did say that I hoped I was wrong, but he did admit to informing the
press and other media as well as the EA on a thread about the clinical
waste he found, for which he deserves credit. But there could be a connection?
What I don't want to see is someone posting about a possible Puma
(unsubstantiated) on the loose in the broads which could lead to people
being frightened to moor anywhere but at a boatyard/village location.
The press need to be mindfull about such things too.
It should have had a at the end of the posting!
Sorry, but it had to be said.
I would'nt be surprised to learn that you sent that photo and article in Worthy. You
have tried to set up two threads on another forum and have had the threads locked.
Reading other threads you have posted on that forum lead me to believe you try to
to start controversial gossip. Or am I wrong?
The photo's are plain to see that they are made up and the puma superimposed into it.
Maybe this question is for Clive?
How do you build/design a boat to go under Potter?
Are there known measurements somewhere regarding
the profile etc to work to and how do you check after
the build is finished?
I ask because I remember that there used to be a
gauge just inside Herbert Woods yard by the foot bridge
in the 60's for anyone to check that the boat would go
through and feel it would be an asset to have it re-instated.
"Loosing 200/300mm in air draft"
Just how thick are these pieces of wood?
Surely they could just screw/bolt some 50mm oak directly onto the
underneath over the bolt heads? To me, there is no need to reduce
the height any more than that. It would'nt bother us though with an
air draft of 7' 7" with the canopy closed, but it will affect many
others which already had to get the timing spot on especially during
springs. I can see quite a few boats arriving at GY only to find that the
wind has held the tide back enough to stop passage under that bridge.
I feel another height gauge should be placed around the Marina Quays
area so as not to be informed at the last minute that its a no-no.
Hi Brian. Good choice of boat. My mate always books that particular
boat and loves it. The only downside is that SWMBO will have to limit
the amount of gear she takes as there's not a lot of cupboard/drawer
space! We on the other hand don't need much do we/
Hi Neil. When we met you at Gelderston last year, after you had left,
4 canoes came from that direction and tied up, had a bevvy, got back
in and headed back up river so must be ok for that kind of boat.
Got ours yesterday. Surprised as we have'nt booked with them since 2005!
Not likely to happen anytime soon unless we have to sell Sapphire for any
reason.
Liked the layout and the history part too. Nice.
Appologies for posting this, but I believe someone posted the other day about pressing
PrtScr and then opening paint or something to save a picture? If so, can that someone
point me in the direction of the tread it was posted on or tell me again how to do it!
Ta.
