    Wind!

It was interesting sleeping on boat at st loaves last night! Got choppy when tide was flooding
  4. Surlingham ferry moorings can be tricky, especially with a planning hull, the combination of tide and wind make it deceptively easier than it is, last time we were there we kept loosing the bow when slowing towards the key heading, add in prop walk due to lack of water and it really can make you look like a complete novice!!
  5. There,s one on hear which will take a photo! http://www.quicksafe.co.uk/battery-powered-alarms-c31?gclid=CjwKEAjwjpeqBRCDiKqliK2aiicSJAAgKD2FsJX4LEda5fuBuecdxIZrJefp0fl1LD0k2f1Uq2pEgRoC0Yfw_wcB
  6. "We saw the burgee on his boat and we got one of the biggest waves we've ever been given whilst afloat. Sorry we never caught the boat name but I'm sure you know who you are :)" well i have got big hands!!

  12. If you need one there are lots to choose from here.......http://www.asap-supplies.com/search/raw+water+strainer make sure you havn,t got one , before you buy , they can be bolted to the engine and have solid tops, we are constantly cleaning out raw water strainers ,even though we have grilled intakes on the legs, have had shrimps living in there once!,so can,t hurt fitting one, and there not expensive ps keep a scoop fitting fitted, it will help with the water pickup.
  13. It,s not painted because the flakes produced when preparing it will kill one NEWT!!
  14. RE: airbags, i have seen Albatros of wells harber, re-floated off a bank in similar circumstances, although they were the sausage type, keelhauled under the keel, you would have to dig under her to do that, and that bank would collapse anyway, bags each side carefully inflated would help
  15. Lift bags, these lift in water or land and would raise the skeg out of the mire, if put them on the land side (portside) you may be able to tip here back in....job done!!
  16. There,s not really slack water at st olaves, as when it reaches low tide, the water seems to be going out but the level starts to rise!!,it is a river afterall, same as reedham , it only changes direction when the incoming tide is greater than the river flow(tide under surface flow)as for the new cut, well i have been along it and the current changed half way up it, depending on weather/wind ect,but the flow in the cut is no where near the strength on the main rivers, go with low water times as these are the same at reedham and st olaves
  17. There is one electric point with 2 x small sockets, and one large one, it,s located on the back mooring next to the slip go on trev and bob,s blog, loads of pictures of it on there
  18. Sue dosn,t like that comment!! , that,s what two days at sonia,s and a night at Loddon does!!,new fender ropes on order!
  19. oi!! we were rushing to get to st olaves for the tide.......well 6 mph rush!! , mmm must get me fenders cleaned
  20. We ve been around surlingham ,brundel this weekend, and have seen the new logo, strange as it may seem i actually noticed it more than the old one!!
  21. I go for a 20hp, then you,ll have enough grunt for against the tide if you venture Yarmouth way....and you can go for a blast on braydon!, had a 50hp on a shetland 535, it shifted!!, but was thirsty so a twenty would be under less stress and not burn as much fuel as a 10
