  1. I remember dancing around the kitchen to Simply The Best with my mum doing all the moves and using a whisk for a mic What a beautiful woman she was too Sleep well lovely lady x
  2. Thank you Alan. There was something on the news the other night while I was burning the kids tea so didn't catch much of it but they were warning people about the amount of scams doing the rounds at the moment How awful to con people in this way, be careful everyone x
  3. Well you've gone and done it Biker. Never has it been this early. It's a forum first.......You mentioned the C word and it's only May. Noooooooooo I mentioned it in September once and got slaughtered for it, lordy knows what's going to happen to you. Ruddy May x
  4. Beautiful picture x
  5. Congratulations Kate and family. That baby girl is going to give you so much joy. Hopefully you will have her on your boat and produce another fine helms woman x
  6. She looks lovely Ian, lots of lovely cruising days ahead for you both x
  7. Have a great time everyone Me too but please don't post any pics of Grendel falling off his paddle board. We really wouldn't want to see that now would we?? x
  8. I wish you all the best Ian. You and Marina have been strong throughout all of this, you keep that strength going
  9. Dear Marshman, it's not the word only the context in which it was used. You, of course, are entitled to your views the same as everyone else. If I agree with you or not I would never call your comments squit is all. You are a true Broadsman whose knowledge counts for a lot on this forum x
  10. Everyone is entitled to their opinions whether we agree or disagree but shouldn't be labelled as a load of squit, that's offensive to those posters and their opinions. We all view things differently and rightly so, life would be pretty boring if we agreed on everything This coming from someone who posts squit all the time thank you very much x
  11. This picture just about sums Broadland up for me. Gorgeous boat on a beautiful river on a summers day x
  12. I'm so pleased it all went well and was a success. My first post to this was to say I wouldn't want to helm through them and I still stand by that but what I have learned from this thread is that they are trained athletes who are well aware they are on a river with 40 ton cruisers (I'm not sure how much they weigh really ) and haven't just brought a paddle board to give it a try If I wore a hat I would take it off to them, well done and look forward to reading about the next event x
  13. You should have done. The young chap would have probably learned a lot from you, bless your heart x
  14. Good question Graham, blue lights may be the difference between life and death in some cases and how anyone can complain is beyond my comprehension x (using big words today )
  15. It's going to be a brilliant sunny day of 70 degrees or so they say so I'm doing a load of washing, which means it will probably rain at some point and going to the sea front with the boys and my parents for some fish and chips which means we will probably have the thunderstorm from hell Have a great day x
  16. Well no matter how people feel it's going ahead. I wish them well and hope they have the best day I've been thinking of having a go myself but not sure it would work in heels. Not sure I would stay dry either x
  17. She looks lovely Ian, so pleased for you both. Hopefully you'll be out on the water soon. I'll send you an Arsenal flag to proudly fly on your bow x
  18. Apologies Ray, had a couple of rough days and was just making light of it all and having a giggle, I meant no harm x
  19. Well pardon me for breathing and do behave MT, I was just having a giggle. Everyone should be allowed to enjoy our rivers whether they are flappy thingies, paddle boarders, anglers, kayakers, canoeists, swimmers, you get my drift but we just have to have a moan about it don't we I think we should ban geese next, I mean how many times does one have to step in their poop with one's best shoes on x
  20. It means.....Objecting to something that will affect one or take place in one's locality.....I know because I just googled it I have no objection to anyone using our rivers in any way they please. I won't be helming through them so they should be safe I think we should have a motor cruiser race and then everyone can get out of our ruddy way x
  21. I agree, I wouldn't like to be helming amongst them. I'm not one for knocking any activity anyone wishes to do but I wouldn't want to see anyone hurt or worse after an argument with a ruddy great cruiser. Good luck to them, I hope they have fun and above all stay safe. If anyone taking part is reading this please be aware of river traffic and take great care x
  22. Well I wouldn't mind being whisked off to Mauritius on a luxury yacht, scrap the bath tubs and moaning about the heat Hmm, I wonder if MT is free, I mean the Milk Tray man of course x
  23. We seemed to have dodged the storm but raining for a couple of days now I think although it's quite mild. Fantastic time to be out on a boat, not too cold or too warm and the unpredictable weather can make things interesting There's always the lovely pubs though Helen or batten down the hatches with a bottle of something nice. Have a great time x
  24. It's brewing up a storm here too Monica, I think you could do a very good impression of Mary Poppins if you put a brolly up Look on the bright side, summer is on it's way and then we will be moaning about the dreadful heat soon enough, I hate that heat x
