  1. Oh gosh so sorry about your accident. Wishing you all the best for a speedy and full recovery Thank you for the holiday tale and pics too x
  2. Who are not like us......We are all equal. We are all the same when it comes to enjoying our rivers and I am sure we are all the same in wanting to enjoy them safely. It's all ready been said how some paddle boarders dart out between moored boats etc. It's been said by Mark I think that his grandchildren have had tuition and rightly so but unfortunately not all people are as safety minded. There are parents where I work who's children wanted a paddle board to use on our beach in the summer holidays so they got one simple as that. No training, no rules, nothing, A tragedy waiting to happen, I suppose when, and when, not if it does everyone will be up in arms shouting how something needs to be done I've had my say, I am done with this x
  3. The man is now blaming it on the weather This frightens me Ray but I fear you are so right. I fear for the future of the Broads and boating as it would seem the authorities and the weather are actively working against us x
  4. Oh now Biker you promised you wouldn't tell Please do behave all of you, honestly x
  5. I fully understand you asking Lynsey but did you really expect sensible replies from this lot You and your man have a lovely time x
  6. You and me both Vaughan, don't suppose one can wear heels whilst aboard either x
  7. Everyone is entitled to use our rivers as they see fit but I am in total support of no go areas, not to spoil it for paddle boarders but for their own safety as well as that of helms I truly hope not but fully expect a tragedy to happen before something is done to protect them and people start blaming boaters and the boat yards I get tired of seeing social media videos and posts of bad helmsmanship and hire yards getting a load of slack for it, how about the hundreds of times you see someone handling a boat beautifully. Although I may be accused of being a snowflake, safety is paramount especially for the amount of children on paddle boards who have not had enough experience or tutoring x
  8. I'd fall asleep through the Cricket whether it was hot or not x

    Trip Out

    Beautiful, thank you x
  10. I logged on this morning and thought I was on a different planet. Smogs is going on in another thread about Saturdays and waztiz or whatever now all this talk of rum and gin with stuff added, what is Angesturar for goodness sake? Anyone just had a lovely cool glass of Prosecco? It is so so hot I am off to the beach today to try and cool down, there is always a nice breeze coming across the sea Have a great Sunday everyone and take care in this heat x
  11. I loved it M. It doesn't matter when it was streamed (I think that's the right word) There's nothing better than looking at anything Broads related no matter how old it is so thank you
  12. Good on you Helen, I love Music. I think music enhances life and can help when you are feeling down or make you want to get up and dance around when you're feeling happy. According to my boys when I'm belting out an Ed Sheeran song in the shower it does neither for them x
  13. Oh MM is so right, the sooner folk realise a boating holiday is exactly that and not a luxury hotel or expect all the comforts of home the better. Surely that's what us boaters want to get away from. Being afloat is the best thing ever. Hell I'd be happy in a dinghy with an umbrella and a bottle of wine x
  14. You must be so relieved Macey is feeling better. I hope he continues to recover and you get some afloat time in too, my goodness you deserve it x
  15. Yes Smogs I'm afraid you are right but in your defence Simon was sober when he took his pic She is a beautiful ship for sure x
  16. Have a lovely time Lynsey and please let us no how your partner gets on with his first time afloat. If he doesn't like it don't give up boating, get a new partner x
  17. I spent my first day back at work after the holidays settling in a bunch of four year olds in their first morning at school and an absolute delight it was too. Some of them were so tiny I'm surprised the parents could get uniforms to fit Lots of little lunch boxes with their favourite characters on them, a few tears at having to leave Mummy and Daddy but they soon settled. One little girl informed me that her Nanna has Afteritis. I found out from the parents when they collected her that Nanna had just been diagnosed with Arthritis which I kind of guessed anyway How cute and how lucky I feel to work with those little ones all day long x
  18. I'm far too busy looking for Ian's garage to get into a sulk x
  19. We have spent the last six weeks camping in torrential rain and hurricanes (okay, slight exaggeration but not far off) We spent a week in a caravan near Breydon water, had two nice, warm days out of seven. Now we are back at work and school tomorrow and it's ruddy summer. Just typical x
  20. Thank you from me too, stunning photos A belated welcome aboard the Forum x
  21. So sad. My condolences to Mikes family
  22. If only my numbers would come up. It is such a lovely place and of course I would let all forumites moor for free, you would only have to supply a little wine I'd give Smoggy a permanent mooring, he would definitely provide the wine x
  23. We've spent many days there on our holidays, it's one of the boys favourite moorings. I love walking along that stretch looking at the boats (being nosy) I so hope it isn't turned into flats or housing. I know everything changes in time but not always for the better x
  24. Brilliant news Ian, I am so pleased for you and Marina, it must be a huge relief. I do believe as well as our NHS it's your pure grit, determination and bravery that got you through. Well done
  25. So true Simon. That's why, when I'm asked what my favourite boat to hire is I really can't say because they have all been brilliant and I've fallen in love with each and every one. I remember the Sandmartin from Sanderson's Marine, sadly gone now but what an old wreck she was, I loved the aft cockpit with the canopy. The gorgeous fairly new (back when we hired her) Dancing Light from Herbert Woods, I could go on all day. I think my favourite type of boat over all though is centre cockpits or maybe even the sedans with patio doors and big aft decks or even the bathtubs which I love....... see what I mean x
