  1. End of August produced 16 boats available with Cover Girl costing £2774 for 7 days. OMG. Doug.
  2. It might also be my mumbling Norfolk accent. Doug.
  3. I have one and find it very frustrating, could be my slow internet but it struggles with commands. More of a gimmick than anything. Doug.
  4. Barnes have already got a 20% discount for August along with quite a few other yards. i for one would be a bit miffed if I had booked a top range boat for August at a cost of around £2000 early in the year only to find I could have saved £400 that's most people's spending money. its a dangerous game offering discounts in high season as people will expect them again next year. Will we see more last minute bookings in future. Doug.
  5. I see quite a few yards are offering a 20% discount on hiring during August, also seems to be lots more short breaks on offer. Is it much quieter this year that the yards are struggling. Doug.
  6. Easy one !! Put your bed in the shed and the tools in the flat............sorted.
  7. Oh dear these doors are really being a pain in the rear., not sure what has caused the crack unless it's where the glue has expanded inside the joint. Keep plugging on you will get it in the end. Doug.
  8. The recommended passage time is for the following. Wednesday 16/08. 11.56 am Thursday. 17/08. 13.17 pm Friday. 18/08. 14.37 pm Saturday 19/08. 15.47. Pm The passage time is approx 1 hour after GY low water time. This is the time you should plan to arrive at the yacht station, this gives you maximum height under the bridge and the least amount of tide. You can of course arrive at anytime if the airdraft is not a problem. Im planning to go over on Thursday and you are welcome to join me if you wish. Doug.
  9. Spotted your mistake, tut tut.
  10. Yes you are welcome to join us for a cinc.
  11. Was very nice to see the broads beat officers visiting the stag and hen party boats at Richardsons today to give them a bit of friendly advice. Doug.
  12. We are planning to stop somewhere near Acle or Stokesby on Wednesday with a midday crossing Thursday heading for Oulton Broad for the Powerboat racing then a leisurely sail down to Beccles on Friday. Doug.
  13. Just had an amazing storm in Coltishall torrential rain and lots of lighting.
  14. If you put too much in you will not get the frame to squeeze up. Just put a small bead inside the groove to bed the window on. You can always seal with sikaflex after by masking up. Today's progress.
  15. I think the area belongs to LS, over the last few months more and more stuff appears on the bank, first one sofa then another and the lastest is a large flag, I also think they have a small plastic green house for growing some of that funny stuff. I think later this year building work is due to start on the car park area so when they come to sell the houses I think they might want them gone. I for one could not stand the constant smell of mint I would be straight down the buchers for a bit of lamb.
  16. I wad really surprised at the poor quality of the tarmac unless its having another coat later on.
  17. I believe the boat had been painted over the winter and was only taken out again for some remedial work. The boot is wood and yes it can be filled and repainted but this has a considerable cost in both time and money. i think the moral to this story is to move the boat off the river front before. Next years race. Doug
  18. Never pass in front of a tacking yacht as the speed is hard to judge, try to pass close behind them just after they have tacked the most common fault is not being close enough or quick enough as they can sometimes be across the other side and tacking again before you have passed the point where they were. Most sailies will indicate which side they wish you to pass but be prompt and prepare to stop if it look like it's not going to work, at the end of the day you are responsible for passing safely. You will find most yachts try to keep to the windward side bank so they do not always keep to one side of the river. Doug.
  19. I couldn't have done it without Tim he makes a great cup of coffee, actually I did as we ran out of cups lol. Oh you mean the missing engine, fuel tank, toilet, cooker, cabin side and deck. Work is progressing abet a bit slower than we planned but the list keeps growing. Once we understood it was not going to make Beccles we decided to do a few extra bits while its out of the water. At least it isn't the only one not going Doug.
  20. WORK !!!! Frame mastic in Brown that does not go hard.
  21. Or buy some nice iron on veneer and a hard wood strip down the sides. Doug.
  22. Seems to be stuck watching the bridge. Doug.
  23. I thought it might just be an iPad problem, that explains it. Doug.
