  1. yes the NBN cat whisperer
  2. for mine it was £5 for 1m hose, and £2 for the brass hose fitting, I already had some jubilee clips thanks to an assorted box from lidls.
  3. I would much prefer to find things like that before they get that bad.
  4. the hole - barely visible in the photos above, just above the off white line.
  5. engine cooled, the old pipe once disconnected is not in the best of condition, its not even a tight fit onthe connector, so a wide jubilee clip was used, this held one end of the connector, the next problem is there is a sharp right angle just before it fits to the car, the repair hose I have is straight, so it now tales an easy bend around to the joint. everything connected, water filled back up and off for a quick test drive. that completed and an inspection showing no leaks, and it looks like I am good to go for work tomorrow.
  6. well my day so far, a bit of a back story, the car has been losing water - not a lot, half a litre in a fortnight, then the low water light comes up, top up the expansion tank with half litre and its full again. anyway friday on the way home the light flashes up, I am 10 miles from home, so do I stop, wait until the engine is cool enough to open the expansion tank and top up, or keep an eye on the gauge and keep going - I did the latter. got home, no problem - ordered a set of radiator hoses. yesterday I topped up a litre, went shopping and did some running around. this morning, checked the water level its dropped a little - topped up went to the bootfair. on the way home the low water light appears, so arrived home popped the bonnet and there it is, a nice little spray of water coming from a heater hose. so a quick trip to halfords this morning to get a pack of silicon repair tape, and lo they have lengths of heater hose in stock, great that will fix me up until the new one arrives, ah but will it, my heater hose has a special fitting at one end, its crimped on, so my idea is to cut and join the hose to the old end, ah i hear you cry, how will you join it? a quick trip to b&q and a look around the plumbing department locates a 15mm copper pipe straight join, its not the most substantial thing, then its down to garden hoses, a perfect match, a brass joining piece, this fits the hose perfectly and is good and solid, it might restrict the heater supply slightly, but hey, I dont need the heating this weather. Just waiting now for the engine to cool down enough to do the work.
  7. good taking up vibes heading your way.
  8. Ib had a similar experience, except I was at infants school, one puff of an illicit cigarette was enough to leave me coughing and spluttering, I vowed that day - never again, and I never have.
  9. I would think that you could find a specialist tobacco shop and have a mix made up especially for you (a bit like a perfume blender)
  10. yes but what is the coffee like? And I bet Vaping there would be frowned upon.
  11. Well on their faq page on their webste they post this: no mention of using the pilot.
  12. the Martham boats all fit through, yes headroom when you are 6 foot plus starts to get an issue in the rear cabin.
  13. but by the time you hear its operational and rush there to get through, it will probably be stuck shut again.
  14. there is a lovely little mooring on candle dyke, where Polly and I moored up after the salhouse meet, it was just big enough for a yacht and a martham cruiser, and perfectly placed to get back to the yard next morning.
  15. I had a work colleague who vaped in the office, there is now a ban on smoking or vaping in the office - its smokers corner for the lot of them. I dont think vaping should be allowed anywhere smoking is not, particularly as some of the exponents emit more smoke than your average steam train pulling away. its bad enough having to walk through the clouds in public, but not in confined spaces please.
  16. its lucky that Norfolk isnt likely to get the rain they are predicting for down this way tonight then, thundery showers and 30mm of rain, that 30mm might be all that was needed to stop them getting back through.
  17. the snipping tool is like printscreen, but a lot easier to get a smaller area.
  18. how about using google earth, putting in a placemarker, then using the snipping tool (found under accessories) to cut an image of the location map, then paste the map into the file or whatever you are using to display the results.
  19. many years ago I had a friend who smoked a pipe - quite what he put in there we were unsure, but we all swore that he just swept the leavings and spillage from his desk into his tobacco pouch, as some times we could swear that he was smoking elastic bands.
  20. I had that once except it was 3 police cyclists, they cycled straight out in front of me and I stopped with inches to spare as I had already slowed, had I been anywhere near the 30mph linit they would all have been flattened, they did all look a bit sheepish though.
