  1. this evening as a bit of a homage to your pork chops I had an attempt at cooking, instead of pork chops I used belly pork, alongside that it was a jacket potato, and a sauce made from onions and an apple, fried up,then a little water added and a chicken stock cube. just about to sit down and eat it, but the sauce tasted good when I licked the spoon after serving.
  2. do you run adblock plus, this may be disabling the youtube channels
  3. I will put you out of your misery, its for my cordless drills (ok there is one corded drill too). I have added a shelf to the wall for spare batteries, router bits and chargers. A good days work.
  4. check the plugins in firefox, one may be stopped or need updating.
  5. have you tried restarting your computer / device, it may be that flash or whatever is used to show youtube has failed and needs restarting.
  6. I thought rather than clutter up the model thread, I would create a new topic for the projects to improve the workshop. So todays project is started, the wood has been cut to size, and then slowly built up, glued and screwed, this has had a piece of 2" x2" screwed and glued to the top, this will assist its being fixed under the open part of the bench and will provide a handy storage place, now my question, what will live in here?
  7. this may be controversial, but everyone was complaining that there werent enough places close to the yards for hirers to moor up on their first night, and how all the moorings were full, so hirers were running in the dark, well now there is another option, not more than an hour or so from Wroxham. for a nominal charge. fair enough if you dont want to use it, that will leave it free for those late starters from wroxham. a parking meter is easily recognisable by just about everyone, and most know how to use one. costs (as opposed to having a human collecting the fees) are minimal.
  8. probably, but falling leaves in autumn.... Rhubarb is deciduous - right?
  9. the way I see it, if the rudder bearings were able to be inspected, they must have been more easily accessed than those sea cocks, so shouldnt be too much of an issue.
  10. have you ever seen the black smoke that comes out of the back of a car when you squirt redex directly into the carburettor.
  11. look at that - there is even places to store the fenders.
  12. new mooring post - whoops forgot to untie before moving off. I just wonder how long it will last.
  13. I have been looking at that, but would need to buy a freesat box.
  14. I generally only watch the quest channel, and if I could get it on freeview would be happy as larry, unfortunately, freeview round our way is via a repeater so we only get a limited number of channels checking it tells me 19 freeview channels 6 hd channels and 16 radio stations, none of the ones I want to watch.
  15. where I work a temporary substation (one that will be replaced) only has to have legal easements if it will be there longer than 5 years.
  16. I could see that you would require planning permission for camping to be able to just pop these up anywhere, but when the site is already a campsite, then asking to apply for planning permission is taking the P.
  17. That said, are you allowed to use the boat en route to or from a BSS test (as you can with an MOT) ?
  18. my Volvo (car) engine is at 200,000 miles now- if you average it out at 40mph that is 5000 hours of use, with just regular oil changes and minimal maintenance (air and oil filters)
  19. many is the time I have been sent shopping with minimal instruction over the exact product, and when I have arrived home and produced it- been told it is the wrong one and to go back and change it, most occasions I have gone back in and bought the right product, and just deposited the wrong one in the food bank bin on the way out.
  20. I dont think I can lip read, but I hear a lot better if someone is talking to me and I can see their face, I do however have tinnetus, which gives me great grief in noisy places as I cant distinguish from close quiet sounds and far loud ones.
  21. maybe on refit more of the older boats should be fitted out as two berth, (or two less berth and add a decent bathroom / wet room) I suppose it is down to supply and demand, if you want two berth on a budget, then some of the older boats are ideal. rather that than build a new two berth from scratch if it is not going to pay its way.
  22. I wonder if anyone could live stream it on facebook.
  23. I have several sewing machines, but the one that gets used most is the old industrial treadle one (now run by hand turning the handle the wrong way - this has made tents done leatherwork, and still going strong.
