    Road Works 2020

OK then the Norwich - Wroxham - Stalham - Catfield road.. Adding to what others and I have said. Traffic jams from the brickmakers round about half way to the next roundabout, at the junction that all the kids come out of, there are 3 way lights but no obvious signs of work. From the park and ride round about to the top of the slope down to the NDR, no cats eyes. Expect road resurfacing From the green man to the end of the long straight no cats eyes. Expect road resurfacing. Just beyond the Barton turf junction the road works have been done, but there are new signs all the way to the dilham junction the signs which when turned over say traffic, in convoys, 20mph. The traffic lights for the water works, are very close to Stalham at one end. The other set should reach catfield this week.. I think they trying to self isolate north Norfolk..

Norwich-Wroxham road, They're taking up The cats eyes between the green man and the far end of the long straight. This is normally in preparation to resurface, expect traffic lights and delays..
  9. The river is squeezed at Horning particularly outside the Swan, if you look from the staithe, towards the sailing club. You'll see the quay heading is a straight line where the river was filled in . it's several knots of water at maximum tide change, a bit less at the New Inn where it opens out a bit..
  10. Here we go again.. https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/environment/norfolk-broads-flooding-environment-agency-warning-1-6552418 Notice how the first map of possible flood areas, carefull showing any settlements in the flood area..
  11. 'Cos it will get nicked or damaged.. For example there are very few ex hire Elysian 27's that still have their Brass Appleyard and Lincoln plate on the back edge of the hatch..
  12. Wouldn't work, half the water from the Bure goes under Yarmouth as it's built on a gravel Spit..
  13. Unless it was empty and capped while you floated it across..
  14. Well the Civil service and NHS are preparing for it, the governments just read out what the Chief Medical officers prepare for them.. How do I know? one of my sisters is a senior civil servant working of one of the 4 Chief Medical officers of the UK countries.. They have been working flat out for weeks..
  15. Oh what about the Petersfield In Horning that had a license
  16. http://www.ludhamarchive.org.uk/Chequers.htm?LMCL=sBRvQb http://www.norfolkpubs.co.uk/norfolkh/hoveton/hovetbh.htm I remember the Black horse as it was a popular stopping point on the way back from work at RAF Neatishead. In those days it was frowned upon if you didn't go to the pub with your workmates as not showing the right RAF spirit .. By the time I left in 1988 it was frowned upon if you did go to the pub regularly... The pub in Horning upper street was the Half Moon ( Closed 1960 the one with the Half moon round top to the front door), it's the last house on the left as you leave Horning Upper Street towards Potter Falgate. ( The area from the Falgate pub to around the bridges known as Potter Heigham today)
  17. Following up on my post yesterday https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-51674743
  18. I think this has more relevance than just quoting a 2% death rate...
  19. The simple way to make Potter old bridge safer for pedestrians would be to ban Vehicular traffic. There is easy access to both sides by Vehicles anyway.. Drop down barriers would allow access for anything that rarely did need access. It would protect the bridge from damage as well.. The Hydrographic surveys have been online for some years, 2015? and hopefully the new one will show that there have been improvements in dredging in places.. Particularly up at the approaches to Hickling and up by the sailing club. and the down river exit of the Bure at Horning..
  20. Sadly I know about COPD, Dad (83) is in hospital again with it now, 6 times last year. He can now only walk a few paces without assistance. He too was a smoker after the doctors put him back on to smoking back in the early 60's.. Look after youself..

The M&GN line from Stalham to Potter Heigham now has 2 sets of road works on it.. That is, one set of traffic light works is outside Richardsons yard at Stalham on the A149 working it's way towards Stalham, the other set is now halfway between Sutton Staithe and Catfield working it's way towards Catfield..
