  5. King line have a nice electric day boat, which I have used to take elderly relatives out on. https://www.norfolkbroads.com/link/king-line-dayboats-1228/ There are several classes of sailing boat built for disabled use, and the International 2.4 class allows the diabled to compete on equal terms with the able bodied.

  8. street light ? whats one of those? A friend came out of hospital in Saudi having been visiting someone and imediately fell down a drain hole, the theft of drain covers out there is quite common. He then returned to the hospital with a broken leg.....
  9. Actually we did export November the 5th to America, But the when those traitors over there revolted it became somewhat less popular. It then become known as "Pope night" in the USA, and is still known in some areas. However it is being frowned upon as being "religionist".
  10. That was Horning SC's end of Season Regatta, that they passed through. But fear Not, it's Snowflake Sailing Club, who Hire Hornings Base, that will occupy the river most Sundays for the next six months (Not Christmas Eve But they will be on the river on Boxing day.) The Sailing Programme here http://www.sfsc.co.uk/Sailprog.htm Nice pictures and story...
  11. At Horning sailing club the river was only 6 inches below the quay heading at low tide today. So I would expect it to to the quay at high tide.
  12. On the broads A berth is where you park yourself, not a boat, A boat goes in a mooring. If you have leasehold you don't own the mooring, you are effectively renting the mooring for a period. The water belongs to no one, in the Broads area the BA have the right to charge you for being in their area with a boat. EA generally on the broads just control the right to dangle a worm in the water. Anglian water only supply water from the taps....
  13. November 1983 so almost 34 years 16 of those in Norfolk....
  14. The Nissan Warrior type vehicle that caused me to brake heavily this morning then set off at a silly speed with trailer then got stuck behind a big van... The jogger in Coltishall with the the light on his head at 06:15 this morning who then turned his head to look at me with the bright LED shining in my eyes... Pedestrians who to indicate where they are with LED torches and point them at the cars as they drive down the lanes, thereby blinding the driver....
  15. Welcome to the site, enjoy your holiday, just remember all the complaints on here(and other forums) are because generally something unusual has happend not Normal...
  16. The rod Licence goes to the EA not the BA, although I believe the EA does some of the work around the Broads. Trying to get the Money out of the RSPB, for the maintenance of the broads might be more dificult. Ah.... do they pay council tax on their lands?
  17. on a model railway forum I belong to, the automatic net nanny would have changed that to "being within a gnat's large chicken". This is awkward when describing a locomotive on the LNER with it's official name being Large Chicken O' the North https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LNER_Class_P2
  18. I've just had to fire this off to the BBC... During the Programme in a piece about windmills, Stewart White, Twice Uttered the Words “Broads National Park” You are reminded that the Norfolk Broads is NOT a National Park and that, "..for the avoidance of any doubt, the broads are not legally a national park and do not come under the national park legislation, and nor will they." Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for DEFRA (Hansard 2015) It was decided by the Courts that the Broads Authority could use the terms National Park for advertising ONLY. YOU the BBC are not allowed to advertise products, I.e. the Broads area as a National Park. Considering the BBC National news earlier had a piece about hidden advertising on the internet, it is a shame you yourselves have been caught out by hidden advertising the same day. Yours Sincerely XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
  19. I don't think so, I only work in decimal points per parts per million... I've just Typed in, 0.000 000 03 -0.000 000 06 0.999 911 73 1.000 088 28 0.499 977 89 0.50002189
  20. if you are on the river at Horning we'd get least another two boats through that gap.
  21. As long as it's not red and orange and smoke..... I won't go near anything made by Beko with their record...
  22. When you get spring tides the wate empties out of the broads more than normal at low tide and fills more than Normal from the sea at High tide. Added to this we had a storm over the north sea, giving low air pressure, raising the water level more. Therefore you'll get salt water surge up the broads
  23. A great set of pictures, Luckily me and Ben the Border collie avoided being in any of them (were were watching at the start)
  24. LandRover owners (real ones) that are no longer producedwave at each other. A nod of the head on my motorscooter As to waving on the water I do if I've a spare hand which is not often when sailing, but normally when motoring...
  25. Rushmere, I believe was the Cruiser non finisher, I don't know why.
