If you are at Jones Boatyard the shop there will have what you want even if you have not thought of it! It has always cost us money when we were there. paul

All I can say is that having been on the Broads late September, we will not be back, unless the British Leisure Industry learns that the post-covid boom era is over! 40 percent off equates to what the price should be without the covid premium. I have just tried to book an apartment in Whitby for November (Jill's Birthday) that we booked in 2019 5 days for £400 then, £1000 pounds now. Inflation has not that been that much. I emailed the owner to complain about the price rise, his answer he could do it for £600, my second email to him was Go Bust if you are willing to change the cost by so much! No wonder it is not booked. paul

Unsure, having just got back from hiring an ex-silverline and knowing how Silverline ran things, it would not have left the hire yard like it was presented to us. Everything was fine but the presentation was not up to Colin and Lesley's standard. Silverline (as was) boats looked as good at the end of the season as at the start. We would not go back to a certain BIG yard for the reason it was a BIG yard and prefer a cosier smaller yard. So it seems we only have a choice of three yards. paul

Get yourself a product called SOAK you can then leave the ropes not being used overnight, fill a bucket of water some soak overnight they come out clean and ready to put back on no drying needed. paul -
Just dry mix sand and cement brush it in then hose down with a misting spray. A brush with hard brush when dry. Job done. paul

We have a small ceramic heater from B&M, it plugs direct into the socket so I made a 10 foot extension lead to move it nearer to us(suitably propped up). Used it last year was great. It always goes with us if we are self-catering. paul

Back to basics, if it is the same as before the mods, check the belt is not glazed and slipping under load, change the belt anyway. paul -
Most dash cams have a g sensor built in and do not need to be powered to record impacts. My problem is my car does not have a 12v supply only usb. paul

Yes a suggestion ( tongue in cheek). Get rid of the posh curved cubicle and put a rectangle one in, no curved glass and more room to move. Really though those curved doors are dangerous, a friends shattered while she was in the shower her feet were shreaded when she got out, no one was in the house, they now have rectangle enclosure! paul

If you are retiring soon, you will not have time for holidays! paul

If it is mainly for grandkids once a year would it not be cheaper to hire a boat to tie up alongside and also hire a day boat when needed, rather than buying one with all the associated running costs? If you hire a boat for the week or two the cost would mainly met by the interest paid on the money saved from not buying. paul

There was a version of Santa Baby on the forum sung by a member. Having just heard the original on Heartbeat, yes I know but we like the songs. Does anyone know if it is still available om here? Tried a search but could not find it. Maybe it has been lost sometime during an update/meltdown. paul

Hand wipes, like those from the covid era. Drifting for a few yards is better than lepto, and wipe what you have touched inbetween. paul

I have had lepto. 4 months off work. I do not recommend it!!! Think of the worst flu you every had and multply it by every day for 3 months. 6 months to recover fully. WASH your hands after handling ropes. paul

So is Brockbushes. paul

The Black Bull is okay but not as good as it used to be. I would have thought the Angel was for you after all it is where the beautiful people go, I am banned by nature. paul

Jean, You should have called in when you were in Corbridge, we live 5 minutes walking (downhill) from the centre, about the same distance as the car park. Hexham used to be a nice town but when Robbs (think Roys) closed the place took a nose dive. paul

Is that your defence against boats that do not slow down, when you are moored? paul

108/79? My doctor would do flips if mine was that! It turns out after many tests mine is preprogrammed at 169/ 89 and rarely changes 3 weeks of monitering and that was the results. Always remember high readings are better than none. paul

If there are several repeater stations, you could try deleting the current one and retuning to see if you pick up another station. paul

If you are on a boat surrounded by grass, I would guess up a creek without a paddle(board)! paul
