  1. 1mm drill bit, that's big. Got them down to 0.2mm, mind they don't half snap easily, if you look too long at them. paul
  2. Well my Ultimate hair dressers car, a mark 4 MX5 2 litre remapped, has a cd player, sd card slot and usb player so what do I listen, to usually local radio!. The remapping raises the bhp to 240 and tyres to zero! I still miss my TVR Tamora (remapped) 415 bhp of noise, in a car weighing less than a metric tonne, in the dry 0-100 in 7.8 seconds 0-60 2.9 seconds. These figures are from the 1st owner on the Nurembergring. In the wet left it at home! paul
  3. I am shocked. I will miss a true Gentleman, in every sense of the word. Whoever takes his place on Ranworth Breeze will have some VERY big shoes to fill! paul
  4. Have you considered hiring an electric bike and a boat with a spare cabin to store it? Plenty of hiring places around the broads some will deliver to the yard. paul
  5. Invest in horse breeding. Bring back the stage coaches. paul
  6. .No it is BMW. It needs a private plate and the indicators removing. paul
  7. Sir, you tease, please continue your tale! paul

    Peace

NN, it cannot be too bad. The temperature reached a heady -1 today in deepest Northimberland. paul
  9. Well I got both deposits back the next day. On the first instance they phoned me I was given the clear chance to change the booking, take the original booking or a refund of any deposit paid. I have no reason to back Hoseasons but how can they be expected to know what any boatyard/holiday company has planned for the future. I understood the low deposit was an enticement and full deposit would be required on cancelling. paul
  10. Ian, Ludham thinks it was a bridge too far for you. Or is it a case of Waters under a troubled bridge paul
  11. If you have cancelled your booking check your payment details. I checked my credit card account today to find that not only had they not refunded my deposit but taken a further deposit. I hope I get the £100 back. £50 deposit £50 extra deposit. paul i
  12. Look you lot, they have to store all those cones somewhere. Best place is on a road that's rent free. paul
  13. I had the call today and cancelled the booking. We do not want to hire from Stalham nothing against the yard. We have booked a different kind of boating holiday since. We are going to Portsmouth to visit the Maru Rose/Victory etc. paul
  14. To save money if you have a gas hob, I recommend a portable/fixed induction hob. We have a cheapo portable and fixed one that I inlaid into the work top. I don't think Jill has used the gas hob since. The biggest problem is how quick they are, I put 2 eggs to fry on and some beans on the new hob the beans burnt while I was doing the eggs! paul
  15. 34 men, BUT thats only 2 working. The rest are managers, supervisors, overseers and health and safety! paul
  16. Obviously, no fuel included at that price!!!!! paul
  17. Just a short note about last week on Clearway from Horning. A very nice boat and the walk round bed a real boon! In fact next hire will have to have one, we are of that age it is no longer romantic having to climb over each other in the middle of the night. We were not happy running out of water on the first night, but oversights happen, otherwise everything was good. The boat handles well and frugal with fuel, although we do not travel endlessly we did about 30 hours travelling and some heater use still got £79 back. We did not use it on Sunday because we had booked a meal at Flavours for Sat night, a big shout out for them an excellent meal and on the Sunday we went to visit friends in the car. For the gourmets, when we ate out. Norada very so-so, nowhere near what we had last year. Greys fish and chips the same. Swan (Stalham) very good lunch. Kens very good Fish and Chips as a takeaway. Flavours extremely good, would recommend if you can moor nearby, just round the corner from Horning Pleasurecraft behind the Ferry Inn. paul
  18. Don't be like my wife, take what you need NOT what you think you may need. I did not bring any clean clothes back yeaterday most if hers went back in the wardrobe. paul
  19. If you read my post on another thread what I really mean is, Where the h??l have you been we missed you. paul
  20. Gracie, That's because the system, like rest of us are so happy you are back! paul
  21. Well, I would like to know exactly which boat it was because if I was to hire from that yard, next year, that is the boat I would want! A new boat at old boat prices, unless they charge more for that one than others in the class. Ps. I do know but T&Cs say I am not allowed to know! paul
  22. Jill's favourite is the one in Taverham garden centre. I expect we call in on the way to Horning next Monday. Well it is nearly cheaper than divorce anyway. paul Ps. We going in her car mine has too small a boot to visit otherwise!
  23. I hope this is not heading to another forum melt down. They usually happen after a boat runs aground/sinks. Trying to alot blame and/or fighting between members about the right to post their suppositions about blame/fault has caused many a problem here! We cannot know what happened unless the parties involved tell us the facts. These things occur, car crashes occur, acts of your god occur. Calm down and have sympathy for those that have suffered. paul
  24. There are two stages of seasicknesd. 1. You think you are dying! 2. You wish you were! I suffer the reverse after a long sea day at sea I cannot stay still on land. It has name but I cannot remember what it is. paul
