  1. The anchor watch app could help if you are released from your moorings. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  2. Move along ... nothing to see here.
  3. The definitve and most erudite work on the subject: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Book-Nothing-John-D-Barrow-ebook/dp/B0045JKETY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1529663315&sr=8-1&keywords=book+of+nothing Fascinating reading, deeply researched and explained with many graphs and charts. Sadly, it doesn't cost nothing.
  4. Much ado about nothing, methinks! Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  5. Guess it's this one: at 6:50 in. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app

  9. Sorry, Ricardo, I forgot you have done so much more and know far better than anyone else about every subject. Please forgive me for asking a simple question. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  10. If I wanted a residential mooring, would I not have to obtain planning permission, and would it not be considered that I was setting a precedent? The Broads could become like those canals with end-to-end residential boats on both banks, with few facilities and little or no control. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  11. A "font" consists of only one size in a particular style. A "typeface" includes all the sizes in one style.
  12. Using the stern out method you can swing right round 120 degrees and reverse to face the right direction. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  13. I used stern first release a lot on hire boats with no thrusters, but now we have our own boat I wonder how much this would damage the stem. I am surprised to see how few boats carry a bow fender, but perhaps that's because they rely on bow thrusters. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  14. True, we've only had 3 mains brown-outs in the last six months, and a couple of breaker trips when a bulb blew, but isn't that when an elderly person might want help or panic most?
  15. On reflection, the voice-over-mains network would not be helpful in an emergency such as a power failure, which could be just a blown fuse.
  16. How about utilising the house mains wiring with this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/RTX-Wireless-Phone-Jack-Slave/dp/B000R567NM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1525854361&sr=8-1&keywords=wireless+telephone+extension
  17. I've never tried sinking a fender - is it enough to support someone for a short time?
  18. Apparently my birth was heralded by Geraldo and his Orchestra with "We'll gather Lilacs", and Kathleen Ferrier changed recording companies. Did I really say that?
  19. If you moored on the bottom of Hickling Broad would you get moved on?
  20. Check out this fantastic houseboat: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F173286293392
  21. But can they do it backwards? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  22. Tapatalk recognise me, offers to log in for me then ignores me.
  23. Opportunity for a glass bowl surrounded by metal or mesh safety guard. Simples.
  24. Zzz. Zzz. Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk
  25. It was you who resurrected it after 30 hours silence on the subject.
