  1. Oh and if you want to see what one looks like, check my Avatar pic...
  2. A Colin Facey CF21 might do the job, 21'Long ×8'4" Beam(i think, will check later), little Yanmar 1GM10 inboard diesel on outdrive(well mine has anyway), tall enough to stand up in part yet goes through Potter pretty easily(think I had 6'3" on the gauge last time n it wasnt tight tight), galley and seperate heads(mine has a proper loo n tank but not sure if they all did) and two doublish berths or two single n one double. Think the same mouldings were used by others too. Hope thats of some assistance:)
  3. Jones Boatyard in St Ives Cambridge is worth a look too, tho if you buy from there you will need to transport by road n register etc
  4. I reckon budget and mooring sizes would be the main initial considerations, then just get yaself round the brokerages to poke, prod n feel a few to see what you fancy, theres no substitute for actually being on board to get a proper sense of what they are like. NYA, NBS, and Waterside to name but three, all good places to nose around. Of course once you get a few in mind post on here for opinions and views etc
  5. Malanka......When was she built, how long have you had her annnnd is she all wood? Congrats on the newest addition(wasnt that sneaky) Spotted you coming past Porter n Haylett last Sunday week and hence you can add another to the holiday snaps tally...
  6. I wave if the people on the other boat are looking my way and I deffo return any waves that come my way. As to the Biker thing it's usually a nod or sometimes 'The invisible wink' rather than an actual wave. (this means I often nod instead of waving on the boat, if at close enough range).
  7. I would really like to live on the river in one way or another and preferably work somewhere that would enable me to go to work by boat too If only it were that simple......
  8. I have the same access problems with peoples cars, they bring them in for service or MOT stuffed full of allsorts in the boot or footwells or rear seats, makes doing the job a real chore at times.....
  9. Hello and welcome from me as well
  10. Well whether straight driven from the gearbox or via hydraulics I much prefer a fixed shaft n rudder to the outdrive that I currently have, toooo much wheel twirling is needed for my liking...
  11. A mate of mine had his car cloned, some 'person' running around basically using his tax/Mot n insurance and running up parking tickets, dvla just logged it as a complaint and wouldnt change his reg number(although it was enough to avoid the parking fines), police although interested werent a whole lot of use either, too stretched to make it a prioriy it seems(which is fair enough I spose, just frustrating).

  22. We tend to go for every other year out on a GRP job but mine is staying in an extra year because I want to winter cruise this year. My folks used to leave the Concrete Wonder(a Wind Boat) in for many years at a time until it needed a freshen up cosmetically or specific jobs needed doing as the concrete was pretty impervious to most things. However it can be reassuring to know that your pride and joy is safely out of harms way when any really nasty weather comes calling. Each to their own n all that.
