  1. The big point being it's no business of either option 1 or 2 to make that decision, it's the law above that counts and gets to choose for us. If a marina locks you out they are not providing a service you are paying for so demand a refund for the time you have no access, if ba tell you that being on your boat is not allowed tell them to take a hike or call the police, they will work to the law not ba guidance. Wether you SHOULD go to the boat is another question but it doesn't mean you CAN'T, I won't because I know I shouldn't unless it's a needed quick winterising visit but that is unlikely before december.
  2. Well done on getting your badge, what did you do on Blue Peter to get it?
  3. Why are people so desperate for the ba to release a statement anyway, they are not making the rules and are not the police, surely the government's statement is THE statement and not for ba to "interpret " anyway.
  4. That's one way to get under PH bridge, have the tall bit under the water.....
  5. I thought you did but would have been remiss of me to not take the wee.
  6. I thought snetterton was a tarmac track....
  7. I need some cooking tips Ian, why do I keep burning my beans on toast? Would it help if I put the toaster on it's side to stop them running off?
  8. Ideally you need to get on to the hosting company and explain and see if you can take over the account, if you can do that you can rescue the whole database but obviously would be far easier with family contact, I have recently done the same with Trevors (Vetchugger) normanboats.co.uk website to save all the old info and forum but I had the massive advantage of knowing all the account details and passwords already and found his son through faceache to get the go ahead, I just had to pay the outstanding bill that was due when he passed away. Hosting details can be found here. https://whois.domaintools.com/broads.org.uk 20i.com seem to be the hosts so may be worth a call if only to get them to save the database to give you more time instead of just deleting when the account expires, the domain is shown as available so I guess expiry is very close or passed. Edit: 16th may 2021 it seems. As for mediawiki, never heard of it.
  9. But it would only take one fish fart and it would be stuck on the surface forever!
  10. So fish can't cope with flow on a tidal river, they may need wetsuits after all, maybe a rocking chair, blanket and slippers would help too. Sorry about my sarcastic attempt of humour but I'm too stupid for highbrow humour.
  11. Most big freezes are seen coming nowadays, forecasting is so much better than it used to be.
  12. If I do the wrong boat I know it's bad....
  13. I'll second what Andy said, it's what I had on my last boat and most crud gets stuck in the inlet under the stud, crap design, there's 2 in my shed if you want them. I also have a couple of the bronze filter stacks in the original post one with new screen if anyone is after one. Vetus filters have the whole lid screw off with the thread around the outside and don't obstruct the inlet, I have a few coloured plastic balls in mine so the flow is easier to see through the lid, they make for easy winterising too.
  14. If the weather turns cold I'll make the trip to winterise but if it's only a bit of overnight frost I'll stay well away till december, it's not often we get big freezes nowadays and from waterline down is normally kept above zero by the river. I can go to the boat and back and not see anyone except through a car window.
  15. Very politely put! Well done that man, I assume the forum has a bad word sensor. I would have said "****** ******* *******" (answers on the back of a £20 note to...) Yep a word sensor....
  16. I thought Nobby Stiles was a brazilian hair stylist, or was that his sister Fanny? RIP Nobby.
  17. If fish need help during winter they'd be better off giving them wetsuits instead of structures.....
  18. Noisy startup could be fan bearings giving up causing an overheat shutdown, some controllers give diagnostic info, check out letonkinous (check spelling) varnish site as they have lots of eberspacher info and manuals online.
  19. Oh dear, has MM taken up your offer of a mooring?
  20. It will probably come from the raw water system somewhere, try tracking it back, if so it will be covered by your antifreeze. There is often a vent pipe to above waterline as well.
  21. Where would be the fun in that? We're british and therefore we like nowt better than a good whinge..
  22. Cowards the lot of you! Well you did say the loo wasn't working....
