    Bad Timing..

Moron, who is? it was an eesential journey.
  3. The middle isle tools and stuff of course.
  4. Griff the dials you need for BA are at Smiths Instruments.co.uk. if you can afford them? Paul
  5. Should be able to get the reel thing shortly from Morrisons or Sainsbury Nilco branded.
  6. Noo noo noo! Resistance is Futile Live long and prosper.
  7. Hi Geezer welcome to the forum, there's a Bounty 27 at waterside marine that may be a possible. A lot depends on your budget but if it's about the 15k to 18k Freeman budget you could also look at Hampton 25, Broom Skipper at 30ft or a similar sized Broom Ocean, all older boats and will probably need some diy. A search on the Apollo Duck website, motorboats section, might give you a better idea for your hard earned. Good hunting. Paul
  8. Sanitizer should be getting better, a local chemical company which does not normally do these types of products have moved production over to sanitizers and cleaners so should? be getting better by the day.
  9. Thanks JM, time flies, I thought it was last year. If anybody doubts DEFRA`s concerns about BA`s management style ,please read this report then look at the seniority of the reports authors. Such reports are not undertaken lightly given the costs involved. Paul
  10. Perhaps it may be a good time to reprint the concerns that DEFRA had about the BA management culture when it decided to send in a team of National Park senior executives and DEFRA staff members last year. The report, "A Peer Review" gave a less than rosy view of the practices being undertaken in the name of the authority at that time and It would appear that the situation has not improved since then. It may be helpful to reproduce the report, because it would demonstrate why so many forum members are concerned about the future conduct of the authority. I do not have a copy of the report but hope that someone on the forum can reproduce it should it be deemed appropriate. Paul.
  11. Hi Nick and welcome, some great advice, as ever, from the members on here. Some good starter boats to consider may be the Freeman 24 at around 10k or the Freeman 27 always good value at 15k. There is also a Princess 30ds on fleabay, might be worth a cheeky offer. Good hunting. Paul
  12. In a word tight, I turned it sideways sometimes for change, usually with a glass of something amber. Does swan rapide have a separate seat fitted on a pedestal or is it just a fibreglass moulding ? I had blue horizon, which was the latter. Paul.
  13. We used a blow up Vango chair when we hired an older version 38 lowliner from richardsons. Worked well for the week despite having a slow puncture.
  14. In the days of the outside loo, it was news paper cut into squares that was used as toilet paper. The good ole days.
  15. Andy, if you remove one of the bearings from its housing you will find a five or six digit number on the edge of the outer casing. There may also be the name the manufacturer with the number i.e. Skf. You can get them from any local bearing supplier or the easy way from Amazon.Hope this helps. Paul
  16. Just starting to get run at 200,000 Grendel, it`s a volvo after all. Had my 740 estate for 22yrs a cracking motor. Paul
  17. Why bother with the grade two structure, just dig the drainage ditch out and go round!!! Paul.
  18. There is an organisation called Save Our Lake District (SOLD) which may be of interest. It was on the local northwest BBC news yesterday. Paul
  19. It just needs a mini-me griff or rascal to complete.
  20. Welcome back Robin, some of the more experienced boaty types may have a good fix for the noisy jabsco pump but I have found 4 rubber exhaust silentblock bobbins are best. When fitted they have no direct metal to metal contact with the hull so should reduce the transmitted growl. Cheap as chips on Amazon, mount them on a piece of ply then screw the ply to the cladding.Hope it helps. Paul.
  21. If you want an idea of prices MM, it may be worth a look at CALCUTT BOATS. They do recon 1.5 or 1.8 versions of the BMC engine plus gearboxes and loads of spares. But! the main question is what constitutes a reconditioned engine? Some engineers just stick a set of piston rings and valve seals in and that`s it. Others do a more comprehensive job and include pistons, valves, valve guides, big end&crank bearings, head skim, crank grind, piston bores honed or ground and fuel system overhauled. It can be a minefield. Hope you know a good fitter to advise you. Paul
  22. Of course you remember them. They are the ones who bring pressies, Gold, Frankincense and Tetleys. Although it`s not my rugby code, it`s been a brilliant world cup with some stunning England displays. Paul.
  23. Well done MM somebody with culture, reading and obvious good breeding.
