I have been there done that but on the canals when we needed to meet a daily lock/miles quota on a ring route. On the Broads I would have moored up and enjoyed the sound of the rain on boats roof, maybe a glass in hand. Regards Alan

Joking apart, boats that are damaged can be repaired; far too many people have been seriously injured trying to save a rod or something else on a boats roof.
