  1. Hi Captmatt, If you have not already bought the smaller blade I would do so being as it is more suited to boats. Regards Alan
  2. Hi Mandy, You should be able to get water at the following places:- Loddon Staithe Beccles Yacht Station Oulton Broad Yacht Station Norwich Yacht Station Reedham Staithe Wavenley River Centre Andy at Freedom might let you fill up, likewise Maffett's. On the Southern Broads I do not think many of the hose pipes are removed as they are on the Northern Broads, but I do suggest that you take a hose pipe with you and a hose pipe fitting to fit the stand pipes incase. I would check with Broom's to check with the person that has drawn the short straw to be on the fuel station just after Christmas, they will be already working shorter hours for their winter service. When you arrive on the boat check the conditions of the gas bottles, you do not want to be in a position where you have a half cooked dinner. Regards Alan
  3. Hi Howard, Are you suffering with any condensation on top of the duvets? We use a fleece throw on top of the duvet so any condensation on the surface of it can be dried off during the day and this keeps the duvet from getting wet. Regards Alan

  6. Hi Strowager, Correct on all fronts, yes £700 was a great deal of cash back in the day. Mine was bought from Coles (John Lewis) and it developed a fault (after a few weeks) on the transportation a small plastic gear that took the tape down into the player split, it went to a local company to undertake the repair they had it for weeks. The kids viewed their favorite programs on that video year after year until it eventually bit the dust. Regards Alan
  7. My first video was a Sony Betamax, cost a small fortune back in the day, after saying that the first video players (top loaders with a wired in remote) were even more expensive. You can keep Mr Dysons over priced plastic cleaners, made abroad to give him even more profit. Regards Alan
  8. Having a beard is not being lazy, I have to trim it a least once a month or I could drift into seasonal work. I am with JM with regards to the baubles. Regards Alan
  9. Tan likes Strictly so we watch that, yes the scoring leaves a lot to be desired and seems to be a con and a presenter who still can not dance is after all of these years tends to go against the grain somewhat. Regards Alan
  10. Hi Ron, I have edited your post, I hope you do not mind. Your sentiments of course were correct on the NBN we love posts about forum members trips on any waterways but especially the Broads. Howard thank you for all of your pictures and information of your time on the Broads this week. We left the boat on Tuesday and for the previous week encountered almost empty Southern Rivers on most days like your self. Regards Alan

  18. We always tell that "We wish you a merry" is not a carol, and to come back when they have learnt a carol, well a couple of verses at least. They do come back and perform the carol. Regards Alan
  19. They Still had a heck of a lot of work to do on Wednesday when we were going past the pub, we looked into some of the windows, bare walls, plastering to be done and no sign of decoration. Any of these refits that I have worked on, always opened as planed but only just with dozens of extra tradesman on site on the last few days, one I worked on had about 20 guys in the roof spaces all doing various different jobs. Joiners and plasters with circular saws and mixing plaster on top of new carpets, French polishers trying to polish the bar tops with dust everywhere, bodies all over the place, it is a wonder it ever gets finished (well almost finished). Regards Alan
