  1. Great boats, been out today on it. I am up this week if you are about for a trip out in it. Pm me. 20 hp is plenty big enough for the broads. Make sure the windscreen is not fogged or damaged, they are a swine to replace.
  2. I was referring to my house, I can't remember the last time we had a power failure, obviously if the ladies house is prone to outage the system would not be suitable. I have a 94 year old living with us, she struggles with the tv remote so I do understand the problem.
  3. I use voice over wire to put phone sockets in the other end of the house, not often we have a power cut these days.
  4. Amongst the multitude of kit anglers take why not include a thin pole with a small orange flag on the top to give helms a chance to spot them in the vegetation.
  5. You looked very content going up the Yare earlier. Have a great holiday.
  6. Half the Brundall Navy have gone past today, Bramerton common will be double moored You can tell it is their first run out from the amount of smoke they are generating. Some very nice boats though.
  7. Went earlier, really good show, saw young Alan, the Rascal and I think Wildfuzz on the police boat..
  8. I have a sign that says inverter on the socket. I also have a galvanic isolater fitted.
  9. Thats my set up, next to the telly and fridge. The only downside is the inverter is not powerful enough to run the coffee machine.
  10. Be wary of automatic switch overs, I had one already fitted when I got the boat, it was meant to switch between shore power and the generator. It worked well, until it failed, it then melted the supply cables. I would only go for a manual switch that eliminates the possibility of both being powered together. I have had the generator disconnected and an inverter installed.
  11. Blue carnations in the left lapel.
  12. I get lost even with a sat nav, I just ignore it and have it on mute, except for the speed camera alarm. These days I rely more on sat nav than maps as I can update it monthly, plus the old memory is still a bit fuzzy from the brainfarts.
  13. Hoping to go, might have to escape grandchildren and Matron for a few hours
  14. Snap, bloody good vintage, we are both 48
  15. I am not over weight, just under height.
  16. Must be an echo of last nights explosion ?
  17. Thanks, I do try and keep on top of things. A few years ago I laid a teak wood flooring from B and Q in the main cabin, some questioned the wisdom and said it wasn't suitable for marine use. It has performed well and looks the part.
  18. Oh no, Capricorns be wary, tomorrow Mars is behind Uranus, don't step backwards ?
  19. Typical Aires, Leo, Gemini………..
  20. I see this one on the River Medway at Yalding when ever I go down to her, which isn't often enough.
  21. Peter, Can you make sure it is properly dredged and shore power is laid on, please.
  22. The biggest influence on perceived well being is the easy availability of recent cheap credit compared to the 1970's. Some people forget that credit has to be paid back. The shiny cars are mostly on some form of lease or are company cars.
  23. If I were to move my Calypso from the EA controlled river Medway back to The Broads, the toll would be just under 100 pounds more expensive. The EA maintain and have recently rebuilt numerous locks, banks and also regularly dredge the rivers. That is value for money.
